Astronauts
« on: November 16, 2007, 08:27:24 AM »
I am aware they are not really in space, but where do they go for long term trips, like working on the ISS?  Are they just sitting on a beach in Jamaica, laughing at us?  And when they “return”, what do they say to their families when they ask about the trip?  Do they just lie?

...are you honestly expecting some type of answer? It would be purely hypothetical. Stop wasting everyone's time with this shit.

No, they tell them the truth...dipshit.

Let me try a true FE believer answer; "Astronauts don't exist, it's a conspiracy"
Satisfied?

Why wouldn't astronauts exist?

Someone offered the explanation of a Florida rocket launch coupled with a studio broadcast. They suggested Hollywood, but I don't see why it couldn't be anywhere.
I turned my signatures off because they make threads hard to read. I can't even see this when I post, please tell me what I said here.

Why wouldn't astronauts exist?
Why wouldn't gravity, orbit around earth, space exploration, moon landings etc exist? I'm just trying to think like an FE believer, if it's against FE theory, it doesn't exist, it's impossible and it's a conspiracy.

Gravity and orbit are the same problem and explained many times that I've read. Please look around. Space exploration and moon landings are both possible under the FE model, they are just more difficult (we cannot maintain a position in space very long before the earth catches up to us, and moon landing have to take place on the topside of the moon.)

Gravity as a force doesn't exist even in RE.
Orbit is possible, but not in the traditional sense. Mass needs to constantly be ejected.
Space exploration exists.
Moon landings can exist also.

it doesn't exist, it's impossible and it's a conspiracy.

Wrong, wrong, wrong.

It sounds like to be an astronaut is to be a remorseless, lying psychopath.  It's hard to see why well-educated, well-trained astronauts would have such dismal moral character... but hey, that's purely hypothetical, right?  Until we receive proof (not counting photographs, eyewitness accounts, and ACTUAL science) that NASA is not a bunch of lies, we had better assume it's actually an elite group of greedy assassins and corrupt civil servants.

You say that like it's a bad thing.

It's hard to see why well-educated, well-trained astronauts would have such dismal moral character...

Telling stories for their paychecks is "dismal moral character?" Interesting.

"Interesting"?  You say that like you're skeptical of my claim that you are probably not a nice person if you are willing to:

  • Lie to your friends, your family, and the world.
  • Live with the fact that you're a lying, incompetent crook.
  • Not bat an eye if the conspiracy murders someone unwilling to go along with their scheme.
  • Go along with all of these things... for money.

How could anyone cooperate with this?  I for one would not be able to live with myself.  I actually have a conscience.

Niceness is subjective. Many people can be considered sociopaths, and would be very capable of doing all of that. It's more apathy than being "bad." That's why I said "interesting."

Apathy or badness, I wouldn't do it.  Even if they have no morals, they should be scared by the fact that what they're doing is completely illegal, and if caught they would go to jail for a long time.

Of course The Conspiracy would keep them out of jail. Every potential astronaut selected by NASA must sign a non disclosure agreement after they have been briefed by The Conspiracy. Upon signing such agreement, they receive check for $10,000,000 from The Conspiracy. The Conspiracy owns every telecoms and every entity, private, scientific or non profit that ever claimed to put a satellite into orbit.

Well NASA does not recruit people with a conscious. Duh.

NASA Astronauts are just agents, no different than a CIA or NSA agent. They do what they're paid to do and tend not to leak top secret information out to the public because they know full well that the government can easily ruin their life at any single moment.

I thought NASA was in on The Conspiracy and the government doesn't know about it.
There is thread explaining how the government budgets NASA without actually questioning what they're doing with the money and the government has no knowledge of The Conspiracy.

NASA is part of the government. Which means that NASA can use governmental legislation and resources to enforce its classified information.

Treason can and often does end in summary execution. The judge or jury presiding over the court case wouldn't even need to know the details of the situation. All the government's lawyers need to prove is that you gave or made available classified document 450a to person X,

NASA is not above the congress or the senate. If they want to see classified information they will. Ever heard about congressional inquiry where all kinds of things get uncovered?

Uh, no.  There are many black projects the government runs that are not reported to Congress.  Congress is one big security risk.  They can ask for all the information they want, but depending on the project, they may not get it.
