Where does it start, or end?

I'm fairly new to this whole Flat vs Spherical debate so I ask, where/when did this conspiracy start, and if all of this work has been put into such an enormous hoax, what's to say they stopped their? Also, the money motive is unlikely, considering the vast sum of money it takes to launch things into space.

Basically: The Earth is Round. The conspiracy and everything in favour of Flat Earth is bull, and in FE theory space travel is impossible (although it shouldn't be).

The conspiracy is fixated on convincing the world the Earth is round for their own amusement. They actually are going into debt trying to pay for all the expenses, but we haven't noticed because every country is claiming a crisis!
