has anyone said anything new and constructive on this forum?
« on: October 25, 2007, 07:22:02 PM »
in the last couple of months. Has the argument for FE been revolutionized? Have RE'ers converted any FE'ers over? Has anything interesting happened on this site? Or has it been infected with people that have the sole objective to gain the highest post count?

Yes. Flat Earth Theory has been proven time and time again on this website. The Discovery Channel even made a documentary which conclusively proves Flat Earth Theory.

Here's the Discovery Channel documentary which proves a Flat Earth:

In Search of the Edge
An Inquiry into the Shape of the Earth and the Disappearance of Andrea Barns

Flat earth theory proved! A lesson in critical thinking & media literacy.

DVD-R version available
Color
Grade Level: 5-12, College, Adult
US Release Date: 1990
Copyright Date: 1990
ISBN (VHS): 1-56029-048-X
ISBN (DVD): 1-59458-229-7

Directed by Scott Barrie
Produced by Pancake Productions

IN SEARCH OF THE EDGE is a comprehensive documentary proving, fairly conclusively, that the earth is flat!

Humorous, thought-provoking, and at once both absurdist and matter of fact, it presents a carefully constructed argument from a definite, well-researched "flat-earth" point of view, while dismissing the "global earth" doctrine as little more than an elaborate hoax.

The film is comprised of the conventional documentary mix of elements, including interviews with experts, stock footage, still photographs and animation, and is woven together with the story of Andrea Barns, a Canadian woman who devoted her life to convincing the world that the earth is flat.

This is an essential lesson in media literacy for a generation plugged into television. Provoke critical thinking in your students and help them to become aware of the devices used in documentary media; the history of scientific paradigms; and their own willingness to take things at face value.

DVD version: An extensive study guide is included in a PDF file on the DVD-ROM portion of the disc.

The DVD version of this program is recorded on DVD-R which is not compatible with some older DVD players. See the new DVD page for more details.

Also, dongs.

Edit: isn't it wonderful how every picture becomes inadmissable on this forum, yet when a video is made in favour of flat earth, it becomes Tom Bishop's new holy grail/copy + paste data.
I hope you never talk to people in person Tom, because a larynx doesn't have a copy/paste function.

I haven't seen the documentary or viewed the DVD Tom , but in the link you provided the only reference to conclusively proving anything comes from an unsigned ,unreferenced  and non peer review comment on a page trying to sell the DVD....Hardly Earth shattering.
Wouldn't it send shock waves around the Earth?
What about the Conspiracy?

Sounds interesting though

Hi, Tom, you are the one that said photographic evidence is not admissable on this site, that includes the discovery channel documentary. The Earth has not been proven to be flat on this site. Don't lie, liar.

In regards to the subject of this thread, I do believe I made a little progress. While I know it isn't the first time this has happened, I did manage to rattle Tom Bishop's cage enough to scare him away from ever responding to me. He's posted almost 50 responses in all kinds of threads since I've directly asked his clarification, but apparently he's too afraid of how that conversation might turn out.

So, yeah, I think I made some progress. I think if we banded together and put some pressure on Tom we could make sure he gives a direct answer to this dilemma.

You're asking for data which is unavailable: an accurate map of the earth. No single person has ever explored every square inch of the earth and verified locations and distances between each and every point. Pilots travel on known routes only.

You're asking for data which is unavailable: an accurate map of the earth. No single person has ever explored every square inch of the earth and verified locations and distances between each and every point. Pilots travel on known routes only.

but between all of the people that have ever travelled the Earth and recorded the data, and all of the other people who have retravelled the routes and backed up the data, we have it accurately covered.

Why should 1 single person do this job. A single person would have a much larger margin of error in their work.
