Terrorists.
The government is afraid that terrorists will blow up the ice wall if they knew about it, which would empty most of the oceans and seas in the world.
And now you all have told them about it. You all should be ashamed of yourselves.

I don't beleive in the Flat Earth theory, but if I did, that would be the only explanation I could find for the conspiracy.

It's easier for the government to defend the Ice Wall against terrorists: just shoot anybody who approaches within rocket-propelled-grenade range of the Wall.

Also, probably the wall is much too thick for that.

I thought you suggested that it was being kept a secret so that terorists didn't find out about it? Which means, in fact, there is a motive for the conspiracy.

Then the only logical reason is that the government are also hiding giant bunnies which can destroy the flat Earth, and just in case somebody sees one, the government can say "don't worry maam, this here giant bunny can't destroy the round Earth", good?

Maybe the governments reason that if people knew the earth was flat, then there would be a contest to who could make it to the ice-wall first and this would either create total chaos or take away revenue from all the tourist sites in the world because everyone would be too busy trying to be the first make it to the "end of the world"....

Maybe this reason s*cks but I don't think it can be any worse than any other reason for a conspiracy that anyone else could come up with....

Well, there is no way around it....FE's need a conspiracy theory to combat just a few minute details like, for example, people have actually been in space and taken photographs of the earth which show that the earth is a SPHERE and NOT flat....

Perhaps what's at the end of the Earth isn't an ice wall? Perhaps it continues on past this supposed Ice Wall, and the government knows full well what's onthe other side?

Perhaps the government doesn't want people to know about the world on the other side of the wall, nay... FENCE!

If people knew about the fence, they'd all be trying to hop it... And what happens if the people on the other side of the fence have a strict "no tresspassing" policy?



That's not to say they don't hop the fence on occassion...
