Because the earth is round.  Thats why they do disappear over the horizon.

One, I can't even see the horizon in that picture, care to point it out?  Two, no, I couldn't work it because they're not tied off all the time.

I agree, I see what seems to be a river or a large street approaching to top right corner and it touches to top of the picture.  But no horizon

Notice how the beam does not bend between the trusses despite Earth's slight curvature.  This picture calls into question Slightly-Curved Flat Earth Theory. My defense: the picture is doctored or taken using a fish-eye lens.
