No one has been shot as a traitor for simply saying something...

And anyway, if the government is as evil as you suggest, I'd not terribly mind making myself a martyr...
Ignoring the truth does not make it go away, it just makes you ignorant and disempowered.

Can you change reality by inventing new names for ordinary things?

But they're NOT stupid. They don't execute civilians for speaking their mind.

I wish they'd shoot traitors with artillery cuz that'd rock, plus this thread is about artillery.
Yes, quite.  No one would ever claim to be someone they're not in their profile name.

Correct, the last 5 pages have just been about war in general.

To quote Frederick the Great in response to that question, "...a vulgar brawl."

(Full quote-- "Artillery add dignity to what would otherwise be a vulgar brawl.")

Why would they need to determine Earth's curvature.  They should be concentrating on wind resistance, air pressure, and humdiity (which does affect air pressure).  These three variables along with others would produce greater margins of error compared to curvature.

Their artillery became consistently more accurate after taking into account of (what they thought was) the Earth's curvature. I am saying that this is evidence that the Earth has non-zero curvature.

Obviously wind resistance and air pressure affects the trajectory as well, but the point is, again, that the artillery became more consistent while only changing the calculations involving curvature. In science this is standard evidence.

That's because they were following topographical 2-D maps instead of curved maps, which would allow them no need for curvature correction.

Okay, so after they stopped using 2-D maps, and started using curved "maps", it became consistently more accurate. This means that the Earth is curved.

We were very limited as to where we could shoot, thanks to that no good lying Johnson. The Chinese were in open warfare with us and we weren't allowed to fight back. No wonder so many men came home with psychological disorders.

You preffer Nixon to Johnson? What did Johnson lie about?

...that was the Korean War, and the only reason the chinese became involved was due to MacArthur's ineptitude and overmassive ego.

We lost vietnam because we withdrew. The goal was containment of the Communist Menace. The Communists siezed complete control of the country with the fall of saigon in the mid seventies.

Containment was very simple--let them get no ground. They got all of Vietnam. We lost. We gave up. We couldn't have beaten the VK anyway, because of their tactics. We ran whipped with our tails between our legs, and then declared it a victory for posterity's sake and becausewe liked the ring of "America--undefeated"

Vietnam is a sliver of land that lost all economical power when we left. Our concern was the majority of southeast asia. We contained the problem to vietnam, and by so doing we kept the next domino from falling. We won.

You're a fool if you believe the policies of Nixon, namely detente, were because of "victory." Detente was because we were losing in vietnam, we had to change plan and face fast. It gave us an excuse to escape what was the worst nightmare in modern martial history.

Funny how we had so many enemies by the time we left. And our "ally" was a brutal dictator that we had to have assassinated eventually. When you look at the goals, when you look at the cost, when you look at the casaulties, when you look at the very fact that we "withdrew," there is no conclusion aside that we lost.

It makes me think of the SAM sites financed by the Chinese that we werent allowed to destroy. I hate Vietnam.

Basically anyone at top level government that placed these silly restrictions on our boys are to blame for the loss of vietnam.
