Freedom of Thought
« on: June 11, 2007, 09:13:26 AM »
Freedom of speach is guaranteed in the Constitution (which, incidentally, by it's very nature, does not guarantee anything, so it really isn't guaranteed), but freedom of thought is not. Say whatever you want as long as it aligns with what the government tells you.

In spite of Bush's obvious efforts to crush political opposition and enforce thoughtcrime laws, I can't help but disagree.  How do they know what we're thinking?

I think Bush is a puppet.

I think Nasa Agent is a fucking imbecile.

I KNOW that Bushido is Tom.

I KNOW that Gayer is logged in right now.
My problem with his ideas is that it is a ridiculous thing.

Freedom of speech is no longer constitutional, don't you know? Because saying bad things about your country is terrorism, obviously. Oh, and freedom of thought? That's illegal, too. I just sat through about 4 hours-worth of my (paid, thankfully) time in a new job orientation specifically devoted to talking about "harassment." Because now apparently thinking about your co-workers sexually is harassment if they perceive it. Oh, and if you're a racist, you have to not be a racist at work. And no talking about religion at work, because talking about religion is illegal now, too. Mmmmm, bureaucracy.

Lol so true yet so sad. The worst and most ironic part is that the people enforcing all this correctness will never learn that this approach just breeds more of what they're trying to stop.

Now that I've read it, I've found a second error.  Here is what you said:
Google this thread is worthless just like 99 percent of the threads on this forum.

Previous to now, I thought you had only failed to insert a comma.  Now I understand that you failed to insert quotation marks as well.  Here it is, as it should be:
Google "this thread is worthless, just like 99 percent of the threads on this forum."

I love how people who don't give a shit will give enough of a shit to tell everyone in earshot that...they...do not..give a shit...

It's like not liking a movie, but watching it with your lover, complaining the whole time how you hate the movie.
