Outstayed their welcome...
« on: May 19, 2007, 07:47:42 AM »
Homo sapiens.
We've hurt this world way more than we've helped it. Ozone layer is dying & pollution is killing animals. Is it selfish for us to continue to live? Are we the superior organism?

I read organism as orgasm.  Your rant didn't make sense after that.

I don't rant. It was a question. Look up the definition of organism if you don't know what it means. Google is a useful dictionary.

I know, I'm just stating what happened.  In biology class, this happens all the time.

Are you planning to be a biologist?

Then you don't need to be in Biology class.

Perhaps. But you don't necessarily need to graduate.

Goodie.  Now that we've confirmed that the human race is worth staying and doing w/e they want to the planet this thread is pointless and can go into jibberish talk.

We never proved a word of that.

The bible is a book of lies. Why should I believe such a thing?

And we braught ourselves up to domination of everything else.  If other things didn't want to evolve to rule the world, then it's their fault that they're paying the price.

That's one way to look at it, but is it right for us to be hurting the planet? Over time, we have developed things to help us live longer, like medicines, and we have developed things that help us get work done, but pollute the rest of the world. Both seem rather selfish, no?

Selfish, or course.  But that doesn't make it a bad thing.  Maybe we're helping the universe by ridding it of this planet's life.

Maybe the animals are actually trying to take over the universe, and CO2 is all that's stopping their evil plan. Or, maybe not.

That's the mindset that makes it not possible to live a decent life without graduating. If you have a talent, and everyone does, you can exploit it and make money, or you could just work a normal job that doesn't require a graduation. A good life is not necessarily one with a lot of money, and most graduates I know don't even make much money, take my father for example.

Damn right Dave. You can live a perfectly good life with a crap job with rubbish pay so long as you've got good friends round you and you have time to relax. Money isn;t everything, in fact it shouldn't even factor in.

Exactly. Too many children are raised to believe that money is the most important thing the world.

If I ever have kids (which for their sake I hope I don't) I'd make sure they understand money isn't as important as people make out.
