Burning video to DVD?
« on: May 17, 2007, 11:10:18 AM »
I have a video in ISO format as well as BIN/CUE format. How do I burn it onto a DVD so that I can watch it on a DVD player?

*edit* I've done it before, using Nero I think...but I can't remember how  ::)

I have had problems with nero.  Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't.  The free program, DVD decrypter will do it.

DVD Decryptor is no longer free. Anyone who is downloading the old versions cans till get in trouble, but heh, like that stopped me.

Nero is easy, use the Nero Burning ROM SE application, then close the window that pops up in the app. Go "Recorder>Burn Image" then select the image you wish to burn.

I've never had a problem with Nero. If anything, it's your DVD burner. I've only ever replaced my DVD Burner once, and that's due to the tray locking up on me. Otherwise, Nero has never burned me a disc that I can't use.

I don't have a DVD burner on the only computer where I have Nero installed, and this is an older version of Nero, so the steps probably won't be quite the same, but it should be something like: File->Burn Image, then navigate to the ISO file, then click Write.

Exactly.

I have Nero 6 SE, so the steps are most likely slightly different, but what you said should be it.

The image contains folders with a .DAT file. The DAT file plays on media player.

Can I convert a DAT to something a dvd player can play?

Burned the ISO with dvd decrypter - player didnt recognise

Burned CUE with dvd decrypter - not recognised

Burned ISO with Nero - player didnt recognise

Burned CUE with Nero - didn't let me burn it, apparently Nero only burns CUE's onto cd's.

I bet any amount of money your burner is the problem.

What are you trying to burn? A movie? Or what?

What file are you burning onto the DVD? It's possible that you're putting it on the DVD as data, in which case the DVD player won't make sense of it, but other computers will.

cheese, when you burned the ISO did you just drag n' drop the ISO onto the blank disc's directory structure? You have to make sure it's actually burning the DVD *from* the image, not just burning an ISO file onto a data DVD.
