Perhaps the "box" is the browser window you are using... in which case NOSE might be 'new' 'open' 'save' and 'exit', but the seperators in the menu doesn't follow that pattern for me. I don't know if there is something that does, I'll have to think about it.

I'm hitting a wall, but the word "pine" is oddly used much like "fret" was used in the guitar reference. Though I can't say I know what it means. Any ideas?

I hope the reference isn't buried too deep whatever pine refers to, assuming my hunch about "pine" is right. 
V is an uncommon letter, so I'm gonna start looking closer at that.
