There is no such thing as "god." It is a meaningless three-letter word.

Is there a sri? A wec? A ewo?

With absolutely no valid historical proof outside of the bible itself, how can you prove Jesus actually existed. How do we know he is real, but Addonis, Osiris, Mithra, Horus, etc etc, are not? They all have extremely similar stories. But why are all the other ones considered myths, but jesus is considered real? Don't bring up those interpolations in Josephus or Tacticus as some kind of proof because they aren't.

Give me some kind of proof he existed even. Even the most of the early Christians didn't believe he was an actual person. Instead they treat him like all of the other messiah figures in other mystery cults of the time, as a fictional spiritual figure that represents their values, but never existed historically. It took 300 years of infighting among Christians to convince them all that there actually WAS a real jesus. Don't you think if there was a real jesus, there wouldn't be so much doubt as to his existence right from the get-go?

The Bible is the truth. Every part of it is true, I cannot fathom any reason to doubt it. It has always been a perfect work and will continue to be perfect. There are no contradictions and there have never been any. There is no reality but that described in the Bible. Jesus lived and God exists.

Ooh, fun!

Let's discuss the seven deadly sins.  It should be obvious that sins are, by definition, bad.  We are not supposed to commit them.  And a lord and savior who was not a hypocrate would surely try to avoid commiting these sins himself, right?  Checklist:

PRIDE (X)

After creation in Genesis, we are told "And God saw that it was good". So, He takes pride in His work, apparently. This one isn't full out sin, just a bit of pride.  But see gluttony below and you'll see more pride.

ENVY (X)

I'll just quote the Ten Commandments.  "You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the lord your God, am a jealous God..." Oh dear, God is admitting on hiso wn free will that he is jealous, which is a sin.  He also says he punishes the children for the sins of the fathers, which sounds a bit like wrath to me.

WRATH (X)

The Old Testament describes several cases of horrifying wrath.  Of course, it oculd be argued that they were justified.  So we'll give some specifics.

Samuel (24:1): "Again the anger of the LORD burned against Israel, and he incited David against them, saying 'Go and take a census of Israel and Judah'".  Burning anger... isn't wrath?

Samuel (6:6): "When they came to the threshing-floor of Nacon, Uzzah reached out and took hold of the ark of God, because the oxen stumbled. The LORD's anger burned against Uzzah because of his irreverent act; therefore God struck him down and he died there beside the Ark of God."  So an ark fell and someone tried to help, so God maimed him?

LUST ()

I'll give this round to God, he hasn't really done it.  Impregnating a virgin for the sake of introducing a savior to the world isn't lust.

GLUTTONY (X)

Why are we here? Many theologians would say "To love and worship God". So God led to the existence of billions of people so they could worship him and feed his ego.  That is astounding gluttonous AND proud.

GREED ()

Touche.  God doesn't need money.  But see gluttony again.  Doesn't expecting the praise of billions of people seem a tad greedy?  But, to be fair, we'll not count it.

SLOTH (X)

Back to Genesis again: "By the seventh day God finished the work He had been doing; so on the seventh day He rested from all His work." If God was omnipotent, he would have an everlasting supply of energy.  Why did he need to rest?  Sounds like he was just taking a lazy day.  Imagine how much he couldv'e gotten done on that seventh day, having only taken six to create everything.  He could've started a new universe...

By my calculation, God has commited 5/7 of the deadly sins.  Now, I know people will say "He's God.  It's not sin to Him.  It's only sin to us because we aren't Him."  But God was supposed to have created us in his image... how come he gets all these perks that we don't?

God's got a bad case of "Do as I say not as I do."  Maybe if we did all those things we'd all be like Him?

I could also point out small contradictions in terminology, but I'll hold off.

Nobody.  But we're not talking about commandments, we're talking about sins.  In the commandments, He openly says He is jealous.  According to the seven deadly sins, that would make God a sinner.

But just for the people who don't feel like reading my entire post, I'll quote an important bit.

Fair enough.  But I still stand by "By my calculation, God has commited 5/7 of the deadly sins.  Now, I know people will say "He's God.  It's not sin to Him.  It's only sin to us because we aren't Him."  But God was supposed to have created us in his image... how come he gets all these perks that we don't?"

The Bible says we are created in His image.  And since He is perfect, He should be able to perfectly replicate ihmself when creating from His own image.  Why is it that He is welcomed to do these things but we are not?

Well lemme add my thoughts

There's pride in doing a good job and there's there's being proud, i.e. a stuck up bastard. I see a difference there and I reckon that's probably the important difference

Quote

Can see your point here, sort of, though the whole commandment thing was to stop people worshipping things like money and work before God because that was seen as bad for you.

Quote

The LORD's anger burned against Uzzah because of his irreverent act; therefore God struck him down and he died there beside the Ark of God."  So an ark fell and someone tried to help, so God maimed him?
Difference between normal wrath and 'rightous' wrath meaning being angry at people doing immoral things is fine. And the Ark thing was because the people weren't following the rules for carrying the Ark

You covered lust already

GLUTTONY (X)

That's if the theologians are right...

Greed is done

The creation story was to teach people that a day of rest is necessary because working constantly is bad for you, that's not sloth, that's just good sense

The seven deadly sins are being juxtaposed between two or more diametrically opposed, well-established views of the same Deity.

Therein lies mindlessness.
My problem with his ideas is that it is a ridiculous thing.

Well this is retarded... You are laughing at someone for believing in something yet you all believe that the earth is flat and is a government conspiracy... You are all retarded for believing in anything like the bible or flat earth theories but at least the bible makes more fucking sence you fucking douchbags, seriously if i knew the names and addresses of any of you i would personally come round to where you live and smash your faces in for being such fucktards, why dont you all just grow up and accept teh fact that the earth is round, the moon is a satelite made of rock that revolves around the earth because of gravity and the sun is  BIG OLD BALL OF FLAMING GAS that the earth revolves around... There is no little pixies and goatmen that surround the "ice wall perimiter" and there is no government conspiracy trying to hide the fact that the world is flat... if the world was flat then how comes there is no proof of the edge? oh yeah thats right because a sphere doesnt have an edge as its  SPHERE... Its people like you lot that makes people hate humanity and i have always been against all ideas of religion and all that crap but all those psychos that spread around the "god created everything with his magic wand" theory sound a lot more sane when i compare them to you. Everyone who believes that the earth is flat needs to jsut do the whole world some justice and hang themselves all 130 of you need to just curl up under a rock and die so us normal people can pretend that you never happened. Its no surprise that most of you are 35 year old peadophiles that live in there parents basement and spend all there lives playing world of warcraft and going to star trek conventions... I hate you all and even if you respond back to me with your funny ROFLCOPTER sarcastic comments it wont change the reality that you are all douchbags that touch little kids...
