You know I can write a book about how crazy gnomes invented the world because they were bored while I'm drunk, and claim it as my religion's bible, what proof have you that this isn't how your bible was written?

I'm not sure if anyone posted this in the thread as I didn't bother reading all of it.

For me, this is a really old link but if there are people who have not seen it, it's quite good.

The bible says that all sins are equal in the eyes of god.

It also says that it is better for a man's seed to fall in the belly of a whore than to fall on the ground.

How can one sin be better if all sins are equal?

The Bible is the truth. Every part of it is true, I cannot fathom any reason to doubt it. It has always been a perfect work and will continue to be perfect. There are no contradictions and there have never been any. There is no reality but that described in the Bible. Jesus lived and God exists.

Ooh, fun!

Let's discuss the seven deadly sins.  It should be obvious that sins are, by definition, bad.  We are not supposed to commit them.  And a lord and savior who was not a hypocrate would surely try to avoid commiting these sins himself, right?  Checklist:

PRIDE (X)

After creation in Genesis, we are told "And God saw that it was good". So, He takes pride in His work, apparently. This one isn't full out sin, just a bit of pride.  But see gluttony below and you'll see more pride.

ENVY (X)

I'll just quote the Ten Commandments.  "You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the lord your God, am a jealous God..." Oh dear, God is admitting on hiso wn free will that he is jealous, which is a sin.  He also says he punishes the children for the sins of the fathers, which sounds a bit like wrath to me.

WRATH (X)

The Old Testament describes several cases of horrifying wrath.  Of course, it oculd be argued that they were justified.  So we'll give some specifics.

Samuel (24:1): "Again the anger of the LORD burned against Israel, and he incited David against them, saying 'Go and take a census of Israel and Judah'".  Burning anger... isn't wrath?

Samuel (6:6): "When they came to the threshing-floor of Nacon, Uzzah reached out and took hold of the ark of God, because the oxen stumbled. The LORD's anger burned against Uzzah because of his irreverent act; therefore God struck him down and he died there beside the Ark of God."  So an ark fell and someone tried to help, so God maimed him?

LUST ()

I'll give this round to God, he hasn't really done it.  Impregnating a virgin for the sake of introducing a savior to the world isn't lust.

GLUTTONY (X)

Why are we here? Many theologians would say "To love and worship God". So God led to the existence of billions of people so they could worship him and feed his ego.  That is astounding gluttonous AND proud.

GREED ()

Touche.  God doesn't need money.  But see gluttony again.  Doesn't expecting the praise of billions of people seem a tad greedy?  But, to be fair, we'll not count it.

SLOTH (X)

Back to Genesis again: "By the seventh day God finished the work He had been doing; so on the seventh day He rested from all His work." If God was omnipotent, he would have an everlasting supply of energy.  Why did he need to rest?  Sounds like he was just taking a lazy day.  Imagine how much he couldv'e gotten done on that seventh day, having only taken six to create everything.  He could've started a new universe...

By my calculation, God has commited 5/7 of the deadly sins.  Now, I know people will say "He's God.  It's not sin to Him.  It's only sin to us because we aren't Him."  But God was supposed to have created us in his image... how come he gets all these perks that we don't?

God's got a bad case of "Do as I say not as I do."  Maybe if we did all those things we'd all be like Him?

I could also point out small contradictions in terminology, but I'll hold off.

You need to read more of the Bible then ,Idiot, cause the Bible says "THERE IS NO SIN IN HEAVEN!!!!!"

A couple of things.

Seven deadly sins are in no part of the bible. They are a catholic invention not used by any other denomination. So therefore i assume you are either a spammer, flamer, or a retard that doesn't know his own religion.

Second i wasn't referring to sins in heaven. I was referring to sins on Earth.

So God is allowed to sin even though he despises it in others, because he resides in Heaven?  Doesn't change the fact that He is a hypocrite.

God: "Sin doesn't exist up here because I say so!  So it doesn't matter that I'm a hypocritical, wrathful, slothful, gluttonous, greedy, prideful, envious jerk!  It's okay for me!  Do as I say, not as I do!  That is the way of religion and if you want reward, you better believe in me, because I'm a whiny God and I hate it when people don't put their blind faith in me!  It's just not fair!   WHAAAAAAH!"

But if sin doesn't exist in Heaven, how could that have been wrong?  After all, God does what appears to be sinning all the time, yet, he's exempt because he resides in Heaven, right?  Why didn't the same logic apply to Lucifer?

lol, so you're saying that Lucifer didn't sin; he just did something that was bad in the eyes of the Lord and was cast down to Hell for it.  Right?

How, exactly, is that different from sinning?
