Here's a question for the FE'rs.

If someone took you up in a HUGE hot air balloon, and have you an oxygen mask etc. and then you got high enough to see the earth is not flat, would you believe in the round earth? And the whole time no one drugs you, and it's not a simulation.

Hmmm...well, let me rephrase. It is pure, unspiked O2 - no impurities present (you brought it yourself) and your mask only lets in O2. So then come on FEr's, would you believe in the RE?

Well speaking for FE'ers across the globe then yes they would believe. Without drugs to alter your perceptions, and being high up enough to see the curvature and no fish eye lens windows, then they would have to believe. They're not that stupid.

I think they would need a full pressure suit also.  Then Tom would just say that the face plate on his suit was causing an optical illusion.

I would probably believe it if I believed an air baloon could safely bring me high enough to see the curvature of the earth.

Even if an FE'r got up there i wouldn't be surprised if another optical illusion or conspiratorial explanation was developed. But i'll give them the benefit of the doubt.
