How would they work under the flat-earth model?

Would they rely on plate tectonics? If so, do plates still float on magma? If they do, what keeps the magma on the bottom of the Earth?

If plate tectonics aren't involved, how do earthquakes occur?

And don't tell me that earthquakes don't actually exist. I live in southern California and have been through several, most notably Northridge.

What?

I would assume so.

I'm not aware that tectonic plates float on magma.  It is my understanding that they float on layer of solid, though flowing (albeit slowly) rock called the asthenosphere.

Er, what keeps the magma on the "bottom" of the Earth in the RE model?  I'm assuming by "bottom" you mean "some region underneath the crust".

That's all he ever does, seriously, look at all of his posts, every single one is a picture.

1 Picture = 1000 Words.

Keep them coming Dr_Bill.

I believe the original post was asking how earthquakes might work in the FE model.  The picture shows a rather extreme example of what might happen and therefore seems to have made a contribution to the thread.

Technically its not a picture "alone" as there is at least a dozen written words in his post.
