Photoconductive-heat method
« on: April 23, 2007, 12:49:12 PM »
Some people have insisted that the earth is round, since they feel a warmth in the light. This is not due to light carrying warmth. How could a massless wave have any warmth?

The truth is simple. Light acts as a catalyst for heat transfer. All around us is a warm earth, heated by its core. As light hits the skin, the skin can transfer more heat from neighboring particles. This is called the Photoconductive-heat method. It is also, ironically, not taught in your governmentally funded public schools of edunation (no that is not mispelled).

Heat comes from one place, beneath us.

Well there's no such thing as heat so it doesn't really matter.

Narcberry! Back with a bang I see. Sadly this is not a strong post for your return. Infra-red light, which is part of the light emitted by the sun (as is the ultraviolet - also massless - that burns your skin in summer), is radiated by all hot objects. This can be confirmed by its use in night vision and similar visible-light-free environments. There are cookers that use infra-red to heat up your food (http://www.healthymagnets.com/cgi-local/SoftCart.exe/infracook.htm?E+scstore). A massless particle/wave still contains energy. Higher kinetic energy in atom = higher temperature.

Energy doesnt equate to temperature. And the cooker works exactly as described by Photoconductive-heat transfer.

Energy doesn't equate to temperature, but temperature is the manifestation of increased energy. It's not a huge leap of logic to get where an energetic wave can energise a particle. Just like UV does.

How does photoconductive-heat transfer work then?

Is this a serious thread? Sorry if it's not, I'm not used to the FE sense of humour.
The Sun engages nuclear fusion - hydrogen to helium, to be precise - which makes bucketloads of electromagnetic radiation. Light is just one of them. Infrared and ultraviolet are also sent to Earth, which heat us up. There's have to be some nuclear reaction in the core going on to have sustained us for this long, but that would have killed us. The core heating us is impossible.

Who asked for narcberry to come back?

Well here you go, narcberry.
Light, as is all EMW, is energy.  Some have more energy then others.  When the UV rays from the sun hit you they transfer some energy to your skin cells.  When you skin cells get to hot they burn.  Simple as that.  There is no catalyst effect.

Where's your proof for this?! Without any, it's speculation claimed as fact.

I'd also like to know why parts of the Earth that don't get much sunlight tend to be very, very cold...

Another thing; Why does it get colder in the winter? The Round Earth fact is that the sun gets further away? If all heat comes from earth then why does the temperature change? Does the Earth 'magically' distribute heat depending on where it is winter and where it is summer? Wouldn't it be the same temp all year round everywhere?
Hold it!!! Your statement directly contradicts the evidence.

Objection!!! Your claims make no sense! Think about what you are going to say before you say it!

Evidence is everything...

Actually narcy did say that the light is needed for the heat anyway, as its a catalyst, so that would explain places without much sunlight being cold

How would the heat from inside the earth come to the surface?  No light gets to it.  He just pulled something out of his ass to try and explain something.
