I've just noticed, why do scientists know more about space than they do about the sea?

Because study of space has been around a lot longer than deep sea exploration. The invention of the telescope has been around much longer than the submarine. In due time, we'll know more about the ocean's depths than space.

Because most of what scientists know about space is made up.

It's a lot easier to make something up than to find out about it.
