Anyone see this this past sunday on the Discovery Channel?  I DVR'd it because the commercials were awesome, they had 3 different episodes on, going to watch it when I have time.
The ad they ran was like "A new breakthrough series... over 2,000 days of film shot, over 100 locations"... sounds tight and LOOKS tight. ;)

Man, I was going to actually start a topic on this (prob'ly gonna be moved to Everything Else, though). I must say, it's simply spectacular. The footage they got was just amazingly breathtaking. Not to be like randomly high-jacking the thread and advertising my own website, but I did a fuller review on what I thought about it on my Bloog if you're interested.

All-in-all, they got some AMAZING shots. Just wait 'till you see the 'Deep Oceans' one. It's pretty crazy what kind of weird shit they film at the bottom of the sea. It's definitely a breakthrough because a lot of the stuff they got on film had never before been recorded--in or out of the oceans. For example, they got full footage of a snow leopard hunt on the side of a mountain and recorded some hyenas hunting down an impala. It's pretty awesome.

Aye. Unfortunately, there's only eleven episodes (it's a miniseries). I reeeeally hope they are doing more filming for a second miniseries of this. The first three were just so ridiculously amazing. It's crazy seeing like the Water Buffalo migration from tens of thousands of feet in the air, and the sheer amount of animals in some flocks of birds and schools of fish, etcetera, are just insane. It almost felt like they had to be computer generated or something because it's just unbelievable.

Oh, and wait until you see the polar bears...There's little baby ones stumbling along the snow...it's adorable...

Just look at this guy, loving how the Round Earther's gather up information regarding Planet Earth. Yet he's one of the most idiotic guy from the FE believers who is very close minded. Don't you think these people had a conspiracy too? Everything is photoshopped? No? Why? Because they 100% never mention on how the Earth is so round? You think that these people who videocam'd and took pictures believes the Earth is Flat? Ha! They're one of us, Round Earthers. You see where I'm going?

If you don't believe the Earth is round, don't bother getting information from an RE'er on this planet Earth. Everything should be false according to you and your believers.

Listen fuckstick, it's simple:

A) I am not an RE person. Nor and am I and  FE person. In fact, as I have to keep pointing out to the mindless fuckbags who keep lumping "all you guyzzzzz" together, I have never, not once, taken a stance on either side of the fence. I am here to observe, and learn what I can, and what I wish to take from it. So, you fucking lose.

B) No one here (or in your daily life) really cares what you think. If they did, you wouldn't have to continuously drum out the same, repetitious, droning insanity you keep trying to force feed anyone who will listen. So, again, you fucking lose.

C) I personally do not understand why you follow draw around. What is the gain from it? What is the value in the time you waste? Obviously, Draw is one of the more intellectually tolerant people on here, and he is hardly a "problem poster" which leaves you on your island of stupid fuck, a one man army without a grenade.

Grow the fuck up, and realize you don't matter. When you hit that realization, perhaps your posts will reflect that newness in your head and words.

Until then, you fucking lose.

Wait, I'm a believer of what now? Of course I like how they gather information--they're quite ingenious about it.

No, I don't believe they are conspiring. Why would it be photoshopped, they're pictures of animals.

No, I genuinely do not.

Okay, I'll remember that if I ever don't believe that the Earth is round. Thank you. Though I don't understand why migration habits, and other biological things would be any different on a round Earth than a flat one.

Anyways, yeah, I fucking loved the wild dog chase. That was nuts. Hah. I love how the thing just LEAPT straight into the water and started trying to swim, and the dogs are like, "Well, uhm...That sucks..." He got a lucky break that the other dogs had caught a new one. I thought it was interesting, though, that a whole pack of those dogs only eats one impala per day. You would think they'd need more food than that.

Also, seeing those massive migrations was ridiculous. There were SO MANY WATER BISON! And then the bears were pretty cool, like how the grizzlies would rustle through the mountainsides to look for moths--of all things. And the baby polar bears stumbling along the snow...Awwww...Funnier, though, when the mother bear tripped and fell. :P

Seriously, though, I was reduced to truly mawkish emotion while watching. Like, I was actually occasionally making comments--out loud mind you--about the show as I was watching. My family thought I was crazy when they walk by and hear, "Then the wildebeast goes and takes a drink from the water..." and I gasp, "Holy shit!" :P But what can I say? There are some spectacular videographers on their team.

I'm pissed that my DVR reset and all the recording to-do's got deleted, but I was able to salvage the last 20 minutes of the Deserts episode, and the complete Ice Worlds episode.

The only thing negative I can say about this show possibly is that they recycled footage from the previous episodes.  Maybe I'm wrong, maybe the Pole to Pole episode was just an all-encompasing "preview" of future episodes in which they go deeper into each subject area, but the same re-used penguin footage and polar bear footage really wasn't necessary in my opinion.  Despite all that, what I hadn't seen before wowed me as usual... the penguin behavior (the 3-4 mothers fighting to adopt one chick, and nearly crushing it :P), also some of the ice spires and formations with big gaping holes in them.  And the walruses pwning the polar bear :D

The great thing about this show is that anyone can get into it.  I know some real tough guys, football and basketball players at my school who are really into it, you just couldn't mentally picture them watching a nature show.
