When will you learn

Ok, first of I am RE

Why are we even arguing these points, they will always to be able to "prove" us wrong, as we will them.  As they say, a truly wise man, knows only, that he knows nothing.

I am under the impression that the flat earth society was originally formed so like minded people could discuss ONE theory, the flat earth theory. I am sure that continiously arguing the same points to closed minded people is not what the creator(s) of this site had in mind. If it is stuck in your mind that the Earth is round, and nothing can change that, then leave this site. The FLAT Earth society has no use for those kind of people.

The Flat Earth society is for people to debate the flatness (or not) of the earth.

I am staunchly Round Earth, incidently.
You cannot apply logic to the following:
-zombies
-a flat earth

i dont see the point in the theory either .. why the fuck would the government even want to cover something like this up
With no south pole, there is no electromagnetism, giving us no protection from the sun's harmful radiation--we'd all be dead right now.
The ice wall, supposedly made up of antartica lies around the edge of the earth, why no one has recorded it, who knows

You guys don't understand the mindset of FE. It's like fighting religion.

Because of their immutable opinion of the world around them, no level of convincing or solid evidence will sway them, because to them they are the paragons of right in a world completely steeped in wrong. That makes our points moot, because no matter how convincing our proof or conjectures, FE'ers will always see anything contradicting their tenets as heretical dogma and lies.

This is why there is no real debate between FE'ers and RE'ers. By the very arguments of all FE'ers, both sides are impossible to prove, so thusly there is no argument. No amount of "why would the government do that!?" or "People took pictures of a round earth!" will ever convince a FE'er, because they inherently reject any contradictory facts.

Amusingly, they always ask for proof of a round earth, but personally I don't think even they know what that would be, and if confronted by it, what they would do.

RAmenBrother is of course entirely correct. However in the time I’ve been hear I can not say for sure I have debated any “flat earther” simply because I don’t think many truly exist. That being said I found this an excellent place to discuss the more exotic components of physics with other like minded individuals.

Additionally you can often help inform others with experiment they can perform themselves (no government filter) to help instill some of the key concepts of physics, such as the torsion balance to show universal gravitation.
A scientist came to god and said “Behold our discoveries; we can summon man from dust as you did. It's Nothing more then a parlor trick”
God looked down and said “show me”
The scientist took up a handful of earth
and God said “get your own dirt”

Of course I anticipate you responding, "But I will change my opinion if you ignorant RE'ers would just provide enough evidence!" We have already provided you with far more than sufficient evidence one hundred times over, you consistently blow it off, ignore it, or demand more.

Do I need to point out the pointlessness of having a "Flat Earth Discussion" board when a majority of the FE'ers here would defend their theory to the death regardless of evidence put before them?

I have yet to read anything that converted me to Round Earthism, but anyone is welcome to try and convince me. It is these Round Earth imbeciles that come here with pre-concieved ideas and prejudices. If you cannot accept that somone believes something different than you, then you can go ahead and start a Round Earth Society, now that would be a joke!

Tom, one thing you must understand (narcberry this applies to you too), that what you believe, nobody else believes. You and the few dozen who contribute to this forum are utterly alone, and for very good reason.

Belief in something that is inherently false is a fallacy. If I told you I believe the sky is green, that doesn't actually make it so. The same applies to your flat earth position. You can spout dogma all you want about the "round earth imbeciles and their lies/ignorance/hundreds of pictures of earth from space", but you sitting there with your eyes shut, fingers in your ears, yelling "the world is flat! I win, you lose!" doesn't make it so.

Most people learn that in kindergarten or so.

Yes. But direct observational evidence for a blue sky can be confirmed with a casual glance out the window. Thus, the sky is blue until proven otherwise. Similarly, direct observational evidence for a Flat Earth can also be obtained by glancing out the window. Thus, the earth is flat until proven otherwise.

Every single terrestrial experiment conducted by the Flat Earth Society has only strengthened its resolve in concluding that the world is absolutely, beyond the power of doubt, flat.

The onus is on you to demonstrate its roundity.

There has been numerous proof of a round earth, which I will not go into detail describing as it is too numerous.

However, the one thing I expect you to say is that all this round earth evidence is concocted and controlled by the conspiracy. However, this statement contradicts your supposed tenets for proof.

Just as you said there is direct observable evidence for a flat earth, there is such for a round earth. For you to claim that this evidence has been doctored or faked requires proof. You don't have any, usually devolving into circular reasoning by relying on what you set out to prove.

So the onus is actually on you to do several things: prove the conspiracy, and prove the modification of round-earth evidence. Once you have done that, only then can your point progress further.

p.s. I once read about a woman living near the sarcophagus in Chernobyl. She refused to leave because she claimed that radiation does not exist because you can't see it. Your logic is hardly better.

I would like to extend that statement a bit:

An opinion held by many is not necessarily a foolish opinion.
A foolish opinion held by few is still a foolish opinion.

See how that works? Your statement is a lot less powerful when you see all sides of the issue.

Do you FE people not believe in DNA? That's also something that most people accept for fact but that very few have actually seen first-hand. Hell, why not deny the existence of some pitifully small third-world country? "Well when I look out my window I can't see it!"
