I got me some questions...
« on: March 22, 2007, 01:00:22 AM »
And I'm way too lazy to go and look for the answers just now.  Interesting idea this flat earth theory, I was plagued by questions all night!!  Sorry if these have been asked before, but I don't have time to look at the moment.

1. In an aeroplane, at 30,000 feet, looking out the window I see the curvature of the earth, how is this possible?
2. Also, in the plane, I don't see the whole earth, only part of it, if the earth is flat, shouldn't I see it all?
3. Again in the plane, shouldn't the sun be bigger if I'm closer to it, and it's a spotlight only a few thousand miles away?
4. Explain the phases of the moon if it's a spotlight.  I.E, full moon, half moon, etc.
5. Are all planets flat like earth, or is this the only one?
6. I understand there's an ice wall to the south, stopping stuff from escaping into space, but what is at the north, east and western edges?
7. Where are the edges in relation to the continents, and how does travel from the "edge" not reveal the truth when in a plane?
8. Is the earth really balanced on the back of four elephants, standing on a giant turtle?  And if so, is Terry Pratchett a member of FE?
9. During the year, constellations move in the sky, on a yearly cycle, how does this work?
10. If the earth is flat, what makes a year a year, as in length, etc?
11. Is the earth stationery, or does it rotate (like a record)?
12. Explain solar flares.

That's all I can think of for now!

You would be well advised to take a look at the FAQ.

Yes, it's an extraordinarily well written manifesto. Leaves nothing unanswered.

Uses the usual format - 30 words per question, 6 per answer.

And it answers some questions, such as the layout of the FE, shape of other planets, as well as seasons.

That's what's annoying about this place. You ask a question and they're like "yeah, it's a conspiracy. no go away and let me get back to my other window of gay porn. by the way, fish-eye lens is the answer to your question."

and so on..

i think i'll introduce my buddy louis theroux to herr bishop..

Did you get answers to some of your questions?
