Why is it that when flying a plane, a pilot must descend every so often to maintain a constant altitude. If the pilot flies in a strait horizontal line, his altitude will slowly increase.  Any FE believers have an explanation for this?

You started the thread, not me. So the explaination as to what you think it has to do with the theories lays upon you.

I've never had to descend to maintain altitude.

Is this an imaginary pilot in an imaginary airplane with imaginary instruments?

Now I get it!  This imaginary and somewhat stupid pilot thumps his old imaginary strait(sic) line indicator instead of his real altimeter to judge his altitude?
