Time to Speak Out
« on: February 28, 2007, 12:48:18 PM »
Everybody, its time to take a stand.  We "FEers" "you" will no longer be made fools by the government.  We are not lab mice.  Its time to make a difference.  I say to all of you, do not be afraid.  We "you" will be slaughtered by the critics, but we "you" will stand through the torrent.  We "you" cannot fail if we "you" are correct.  Its time to but a voice to our cries.  Its time we had balls.  Whos with me, lets kick some ass.
Time to take a stand!
It takes balls to take a stand!
Do you have the balls to take the stand?
We want you to take the stand!

Research topics for Flat Earthers:

1. Current weather patterns can only exist on a spherical Earth.  I know for a fact, I am a weather forecaster.
search these words: 'Coriolis Effect' 'comma cloud'

2. A spherical Juipter can be observed rotating through any good telescope.

3. A spherical rotating Sun can be observed through any good telescope.

4. Time slows down as you approach the speed of light, therefore if the Earth is constantly accelerating, we would be at a stand still in time by now.  And since we can't go the speed of light unless we become energy, then when we reach the max speed, will everything float off the Earth into outerspace?  That's just a ridiculous notion.

5. How many millions of people would it really take to "cover up" everything as a government conspiracy?

6. The Earth's magnetic field can only exist with a sphere with a core of iron as it is.  A flat Earth would have a very different magnetic field.

7. The shadow on the moon cast by the sun clearly shows that it is a sphere.  Can you get more obvious than that?

8. Perhaps the Flat Earth Society is really an elaborate government conspiracy to distract society from their real cover ups.

9. Or Perhaps the Flat Earth Society is just an arena to develop one's debate skills.  That would make sense since a good debator can argue any points, even obviously ridiculous ones.

10. Bubbles and raindrops are undeniable examples of how objects behave naturally.

If you really want to bring yourself out of darkness, take these points into consideration.
Look up in the sky, it's a bird, no, it's a plane, no, it's the International Space Station!

RELATIVITY SON, DO YOU KNOW IT?!?!?!?!?!?!??!

*cough* seriously though, time would appear to slow down to an outside observer, but to us time would seem completely normal.  Most of those other points are good though (especially #1; if I ever see a meteorologist FEer, I'll shit bricks).

Mathematical proof of the flat Earth:
[{(Diameter of Earth)*(tan[distance from Earth to sun/distance from North pole to equator])}2]/0

Right, I didn't elaborate on that more since I realized it would be impossible to observe that effect from Earth.

That is ridiculous, as that won't happen.  Acceleration is relative.

What does iron have to do with the earth's magnetic field? ???

I believe he's referring to the fact that water is attracted to water, and so when it's splashed on something it forms little spherical drops instead of just staying flat (look on the window of your car next time it rains) because a sphere is the object with the most volume per surface area.

Which, on a side note, makes it the most inefficient shape for living cells.  A thin disk on the other hand......

The Earth must be a blood cell flying through a giant creature's body.  I hope he doesn't get cut.

What does surface tension have to do with anything?

Well, except for this thing called air resistance.

What does air resistance have to do with the shape of the Earth? They're perfect spheres apart from air resistance.

Raindrops happen in this place called the atmosphere.  There is air there.  When the raindrops fall to earth, they encounter air resistance.  Last time I checked, raindrops don't naturally happen in space.

Well by pointing out air resistence you made it seem like you were trying to say that it has something to do with the shape of the Earth.

They guy was just stating that liquids like to form spheres like lots of things in nature. Liquid spheres falling through an atmosphere get distorted but that doesn't change the fact they like to form spheres. That's the only point I was trying to make. You know all of this.

The other person brought it up. Instead of saying "that has nothing to do with the shape of the Earth" you created a counter-point about the shape of raindrops. Why would you make a counterpoint to something you thought was irrelevant?

I pointed out that air resistance makes raindrops flatten out, which Kasroa and the original poster said didn't happen.  I said nothing of it relating to the shape of the earth.

How is air resistance not relevant to the shape of a raindrop as it falls to earth?

Raind drops are perfectly spherical unless they are falling through air. If they fall in a vacuum they are spherical all the way down. I hope this puts an end to this pointless and off-topic banter.
