It's not really tripped out, but I seriously keep my windows in Elder's Scrolls font for no apparent reason...

Trekky0623 - I recommend you torrent (free, legal) an NOD32 crack (free, legal) and download Sygate Personal Firewall (free, legal) and scrap Norton. Your computer will thank you.

Here's a few shots of my desktop.

I'll see if I can't find any of my Windows XP screenshots. If I do, I'll post them up.

Edit: Found one.

I use to have Vista on the HDD where OS X is now installed to. Too bad I didn't grab any nice screenies. I'll post up screenies when I get Casper, my laptop.

Do not listen to this post. Baaaad news, brotha'. Norton wins when it comes to Windows security (maybe not on Linux or Mac, but Symantec owns everything when it comes to Windows).

The best security is common sense, and a fully updated Windows OS.  ;)

I've never ever had the need to use an Anti-virus/-spyware/-adware/-malware program ever.

And Norton sucks too. Get AVG. It's free and it gets everything.

Or just get a Mac.

AVG is a pain in the ass.  AntiVir is better.

Not only is Norton a resource-hog, it is lagging father and father behind in the world of antiviruses:

I have yet to have an issue with AVG on any of the systems I have installed it to.

Ubuntu-Linux is good. I don't like the shell, so I used AGXL and Compiz and Beryl to achieve a better desktop management.

Then I scrapped Ubuntu-Linux for Mac OS X 10.4.8 Tiger. I kept Windows XP Pro SP2 on my other drive for games, but I haven't switched for anything yet.

I wish that OS X had some kind of fancy window manager like Compiz or Beryl.

Oh, by the way, how'd you like my screenshots?

Of all the anti-virus applications I have ever come across (including Norton/ Mccrappy) Panda Anti-virus platinum is the best, It was recomended by the fellows at thatcomputerguy virus/spyware forums. I think it defeats the others because on its own it is also a good anti-spy application, the scan engine is good at picking up new virii that have not been added to the library yet. Most virus writers nowadays make sure that their creation can bypass norton before they release it into the wild (since Symantec controlls such a vast majority the the AV market). Kaspersky AV is also very thourough. I used the free avast AV for a while, it was also good, symantec was annoying to remove (they actually have a clean-up tool to get rid of liveupdate stuff that gets left behind) and a big resource hog.
This article helps to explain why popular AV applications have a hard time agaisnt new threats: http://www.zdnet.com.au/blogs/securifythis/soa/Why_popular_antivirus_apps_do_not_work_/0,139033343,139264249,00.htm

I really like the case.

I don't have access to a digi camera, so I don't have a pic of my particular case, but it's a Chieftec Dragon case, full tower. 4 drive bays, 2 floppy bays (or one floppy and a HDD) and 3 HDD's (unless you use the floppy bay for a HDD).

I like those cases! I wish I could find one and outmode it for my pc. I have an Apple Powerbook, but I use it only for portable recording purposes.

There was this rad as hell pc I saw online a while back that some guy made into the Hellraiser "Puzzle Box", complete with a glowing, eerie holographic image of Pinhead's face. It was remarkable. He used a dremel and a glue gun (sans the glue of course) to carve up and "burn" the keyboard, monitor and all that, to make it look like tortured human skin. It was really something. If I can find the thing again I will edit this post with images of it.

Another case I really like is the one my best friend made back in College. The entire case was a FISH TANK! It was hermetically sealed, and when you turned it on, it would bubble up, and light up a pale green, and you see his Chinese fighting fish, swimming around, oblivious to the HD, RAM and all that, all housed in an airtight enclosure.

It was rad. The way  he did it, basically is, he made the innards (parts) in their own tubing, within the confines of the larger case, where the fish and all that went. It was truly a thing of geek heaven LOL.

Another one we saw at a local expo show was a guy who made one of his expansion bays house a Car Cigarette lighter, rather than a drive. It was hilarious!
My problem with his ideas is that it is a ridiculous thing.
