Just a Few Questions

How do you explain the following things?

1.If the earth is flat, the sun would hit the earth equally at all times. Then, how do you explain things such as night, timezones, seasons?

2.If the world was flat how do people take cruises all around the world? (I have personally taken a cruise around the world, please do explain. Are the cruise lines in on this?)

3. Google Earth? (Do they have photoshop artists who travel the entire world making false satellite images?)

4. Where is the ice wall? Have you drawn out a map of your flat world and found its location? If so, where is it? Why have you not rented a personal Air Plane and flown there to see it?

5.

This map shows airline routes crossing the entire globe. Where is your ice wall now?

6. How do you explain the horizon on the ocean. If the world was truly flat, the ocean would have no horizon because a liquid's surface is always flat. The horizon on the ocean is caused by the curvature of the earth.

7. Gravity? If the earth were truly flat, Gravity would either not exsist or snap the earth in many peices until it became circular. (Newton's Law)

No further questions. All answers appreciated.

P.S. We are two high school students and we're already pwning you. Shoutout to Digg.com!

I'm RE, but I can still answer most of these.

1. They think it's all optical illusions and gravitational lensing, to put it simply.  (This is the main reason I'm RE, as the FE explanation of the sun and moon is extremely unsatisfying)

2. I'll hate myself later for saying this, but read the FAQ.  Circumnavigation is totally possible in FE.

3. Most (read MOST) Google Earth images are taken from airplanes.

4. They think that if you get too close to the ice wall, the government guards will shoot you down.  Very convenient .

5. See 2

6. Another good reason why I'm RE.  They think that the atmosphere  prevents seeing any farther then the often-quoted number of 25 miles.  Of course, if that were the case the horizon would gradually fade into the sky as opposed to being a sharp and clearly defined line.  I'm sure they have a really great explanation for it though.

7. The shape of the Earth under its surface isn't totally agreed on by FEers as far as I can tell, though if the Earth was as "deep" as it was wide (and created with solid structural integrigy), it wouldn't collapse.  Also, they believe that the Earth is exempt from the effects of gravity.  Don't ask my why.

Mathematical proof of the flat Earth:
[{(Diameter of Earth)*(tan[distance from Earth to sun/distance from North pole to equator])}2]/0
