Yes, this is a very long video, but I would like to center our discussion to it, and for anyone who has never heard these ideas before, it will save a lot of time and offer a much more impressive presentation. For those who have already discussed or thought about this question in length, it is recommended equally!

Please post your opinion here, and please go into great detail, but remember , if you have to put your thoughts "in other words" you really didn't say it well enough the first time.

I think Dawkins is almost spot on... he missed the spot by about a quarter of an inch. Or, depending on how you see it, he was spot on, and I missed it by about a quarter of an inch.

Here is how I see it laid out:

1) The Big Bang scattered particles and energy across the Universe, in a manner that seems random to us (wow this is going to be a long story)

2) Human are basically automata that experience consciousness

3) Humans are controlled entirely by the core data of the brain (subconscious), the "operating system", so to speak, instincts and emotions

4) Human function is the result of automated processes controlled by the complex computer-like brain (the monkey wrench is consciousness)

5) Every single action is in pursuit of happiness (and the minimization of suffering)

6) One of these instincts, brought on by Darwinian evolution, or perhaps just a habit of human nature, is to search for purpose, which is "purpose to me" which means "how can this serve me?". Also, the question "what should I do?" arises. It contributes to survival as we know what to do with food (sort of aligns with Dawkins "goal-oriented human"), but it's useless when we think of a space rock in the next galaxy, or more abstract things like life and reality.

7) Really life has no purpose, or, you could say, living ensures survival as, you are living, and propagating genes, or, since happiness is the only goal for the conscious human, life is about accumulated as much happiness as possible.

I thought it was a very interesting video, and i basilcy agree with Dawkins. There were a couple of minor things, not even worth mentioning, so i wont
