New here. What is the deal with mountains?
« on: May 06, 2015, 02:20:23 PM »
I just found out that there are people who still believe the earth is flat today and it blew my mind. I've been reading this forum basically all day.

What I don't get is, on top of all of the other crazy parts of the FE theory, why toss the idea that mountains are fake in.

Also why come up with the upward accelerating earth part? If you are saying that earth is magically accelerating up, why not just go with we are magically held down instead?

Do you live in Southern California and work for a county? I have a friend that uses that screen name for quite a bit.
I have 13 [academic qualifications] actually. I'll leave it up to you to guess which, or simply call me a  liar. Either is fine.

No, but the Turd Ferg is like batman. "As a man, I'm flesh and blood, I can be ignored, I can be destroyed; but as Turd Ferguson... as a symbol I can be incorruptible, I can be everlasting."

The flat earth forums are a natural target for trolls,  the "Mountains don't exist"  thing was a troll from a radio station in Kansas,  just to have a bit of fun.   I don't think they ever owned up to it, but it was pretty obvious.

For someone living in the remoter parts of Kansas, it might be easy to believe.

If you google  "trolling the flat earth forums"  or variants thereof,  you can find plenty of people bragging about it.

Some even have the gall and temerity to suggest the flat earth movement itself is a giant 300 year old troll.  Imagine the nerve of some people.  :)

One person puts it very succinctly,  "Welcome to the Internet!"
