Name a single verifiable predication made by flat earth theory
« on: October 08, 2014, 07:18:20 PM »
A theory is only as good as the predictions it makes.  For example, round earth theory accurately predicts the dates of eclipses, the times of sunrises and sunsets, the locations of stars and planets, the distance at which a ship will disappear over the horizon, etc.

Flat-earthers: please name any verifiable prediction based on flat earth theory, and show the math.  For example, "the sun will set in Los Angeles tomorrow at 7:35pm, and here is the flat-earth based formula that calculates the time."

The sun will circle above the flat earth tomorrow.

Stay tuned for my findings.

The sun will circle above the flat earth tomorrow.

This fact is not support for FE since it can also be explained by RE.  I asked for a specific predication that is backed up by math.  For instance, can you predict the exact location of the sun and show us the flat earth-based math?

Or, if you prefer, show the math that explains the "circling" of the sun.  RE explains this with gravity, including a formula that relates the gravitational force to the masses of the bodies and the distance between them.  Can you provide an FE model formula that explains the sun's movement?

The sun will circle above the flat earth tomorrow.

I'll await your findings and supporting evidence with interest.  Can you please capture sufficient video footage to illustrate this phenomenon?

The sun will circle above the flat earth tomorrow.
Except it doesn't, does it?  If it did that then it's apparent size would change significantly during the day and it would never get dark.

In fact what it does do is stay the same apparent size then drop below the horizon.
