Water board him.  It may or may not be correct information, but it is fun anyway.

Which came first, the chicken or the egg?

Thanks to evolution, it's provable that the egg came first.
Chickens evolved from something else, which we can call the proto-chicken. At some point, one has to draw a line between whether a creature is a proto-chicken or an actual chicken in terms of defining characteristics. Proto-chicken eggs hatched into creatures that eventually were chicken like enough to be called a chicken.
Therefore, at some point, there was a proto-chicken parent that laid an egg containing a chicken. Since the first chicken hatched from an egg with no chicken before it, the egg came first.

But that still doesn't explain what was interesting enough on the other side of the road to make the chicken decide to cross it.

The proto-worm was on the other side of the road.

Magnetism for one and electric is the other.

The proto-proto-chicken, of course.
