New High Res Mars Photo.
« on: August 11, 2012, 04:51:37 PM »
So NASA just posted a new image of the red planet. I want the flat-earthers opinion, would you take this a credible proof? Or will you go hide in shell and proclaim conspiracy!

I for one am amazed that I'm looking at another planet, fucking crazy! Can't wait till i can hop on space ship and visit mars(maybe I'm too hopeful for the future?).

space travel IS possible until overwhelming evidence says it is not.
The only "evidence" I have heard is that once outside earths atmosphere
a rocket would stop, and the earth would crash into it.
I responded with what if a rocket launched at a 45 degree angle beyond the mythical ice wall...
no response.

of course the sun and moon do just fine in outer space.

I base space travel on round earth and heliocentric solar system. All the physics and math can be used to calculate space travel (Finding orbits, transfer orbits, and ect.) which is based a calculus which I think we can agree is solid foundation to build on.

So I won't speak of space travel in the Flatearther's flat earth and geocentric solar system, As it has no mathematical bases or proof.

Also iwanttobelive are you flat Earther, I've wondered for some time now.

What's with the black bars?

There are black bars because the photo is called a "panoramic" photo or 360 degree photo. However curiostiy didn't take pictures of itself or every little thing so thus the black bars.

NASA's conspiracy budget is being cut. They can't afford to photoshop any more, so they just black it out entirely. Amazing that so many gullible people will believe this is another world.

I read up on it.  You're right.  It's a panoramic view and because it's a mapping of a 3D inner sphere onto a 2D plane, some areas need to be removed to make it prettier.

I don't recall massive black boxes all over flat maps of the Earth. It must be because they're not flat projections of a sphere.

The ocean sizes are exaggerated. And since it's drawn and not a photograph, it has no black boxes.

But it's easy to test. Grab a camera and take enough pictures to create a panoramic view. Then stitch them together in your choice of programs.

It's amazing that people are so idiotic to believe that earth is flat, just because it looks flat at sea level. I'm just glad stupidity like yours won't be bred into newer generation.

And it's funny how you know nothing of panoramic photos, i mean come on, thats like elementary photography skills.

I suggest you find some panoramic photos that had to place black boxes in random areas throughout the scene. Until then, your gullibility is outrageous. I even bet you're religious.

Yeah, found out why.  Apparently, I was wrong.

The black areas denote areas outside the view of the Mastcam.

Although that's odd considering this image:

I'll try to find a reason.  It could be something as simple as bad data that got sent.

I have actually done this before and used a program to stitch the photos together.  Not a single black square was located anywhere in the final product.

Then again, we haven't seen the individual photographs that were stitched together to make the panorama.

Check these Mars satellite images from 1999.

Ummm... That doesn look like a forest. Looks like a partially covered impact crator. You should look at high altitude forests of Earth for verification.

Why does every conspiracy website ever use the most annoying color schemes they can find?  Reading white text against a black background is the worst.
Also, the people on your websites are specifically framing their claims, not to learn the truth of the matter, but because they want to "debunk" Apollo Hoax claims --

That's the first image.  You can see the "forest" in the crater from the middle part of the image. (I matched it up with the originals)

This is the other:
