the southern tip of south america to australia?  It would be much closer in a round earth model than a flat earth model.  I'm sure someone has pointed this out before.  so.........

How do you propose to make such a measurement?
Science is what happens when preconception meets verification.

Besides, perhaps FET is a conspiracy too.

whatever, flight time would give an approx measurement.  it would be WAY longer/further if the earth was flat.

i know yall don't believe in google earth, but it says it's about 5,600 miles.  in a flat earth model it would be at least 4 times farther.

You know this has been done before.
Ask Thork for where it is.

Berny
did that.
To be fair, sometimes what FE'ers say makes so little sense that it's hard to come up with a rebuttal.

Wouldn't it be a bad idea to post something you suspect has already been posted. I mean, if it didn't work the first time, what makes you think it'll work this time?

Well it did - except that FE'ers just assumed the whole race was rigged.

Ask Thork - he probably remembers the joys of the 55th parallel.

Ok Superbrain. Devise a way to measure the distance.

this is proof the earth is round.  i went to expedia and typed in for a one way flight from buenos aires to sydney.  the one layover is in johannesburg, south africa.

if the earth was flat the heading for this flight would be almost due north, which is the direction you would have to travel according to your flat earth map.

please explain why the flight would have a layover in johannesburg, south africa if the earth was flat.

no reply from the flattards?  according to your flat earth map the layover would have to be somewhere around the north pole for a flight from buenos aires to sydney.

Wut? If you were going from South America to South Africa to Australia you would be flying East on either map. What are you talking about?

nope, according to your flat earth map the most direct route would take the flight almost due north from buenos aires to sydney.

Do you honestly think planes ever fly direct routes?

can any flat earthers explain why the flight path would go around the circumference of the flat earth near the "ice wall" instead of taking the more direct route north from buenos aires to australia?

Because this would prove that the Earth is flat. And the conspiracy wouldn't like that.

Yes. A great deal of careful calculation is done to make sure planes don't carry excess fuel. The distances are known, and they have to be correct as there isn't a huge tank of spare fuel to go the extra distances you like to think they fly. The ability of an aircraft to get to its destination with the predicted amount of fuel used provides at least a rough proof that the distances are accurate. Ask Wardogg, he pretends to understand aviation and can confirm this (or deny it and make himself look stupid by doing so.)
Gayer doesn't live in an atmosphere of vaporised mustard like you appear to, based on your latest photo.

First off, 1ee, you're making yourself look terrible with all the flaming and ad hominems you're using.  You expect anyone to take you seriously when you're calling people "flattards"?  Just some advice.

And yeah, what Thermal Detonator said.  Especially if they're not in on the Conspiracy, I doubt these airports would randomly go so out of their way when it's such a huge issue to them to use as little fuel as possible.  Really, it's been a problem in the news that they have been risking trouble by not letting the pilots carry extra in case they get stuck in the air for a while, meaning they could very well run out and fail if such a thing happens.

There's no definitive way to prove the shape of the Earth to a Flat earther, that's why FET works.
