Just to be sure...
« on: August 07, 2009, 07:51:25 AM »
Just posting to see if I am understanding your theory correctly. Earth as you know it is just a round area, with a bit of ice around the edges that I would know as Antarctica. Then past some amount of miles there are secret guards and a giant ice wall around it, to keep the oceans inside our round area. If one were to fly past these secret super-guards, and make it past this massive wall of ice, that person would end up in space. Also, Earth being round is just a government conspiracy to cover up the truth that the Earth is flat, just so NASA higher-ups can line their pockets with gold. Oh, and in the 1960's NASA had super-finding to be able to create a ton of perfectly accurate and highly detailed models of everything to make such a conspiracy. Is all of this correct?

I have yet seen an explanation as to why I can drive an hour and a half, and go see a shuttle being launched, and disappear straight up into space, when you say that is impossible.

Anyway, why does it matter whether the earth is flat or round. How does it affect your life? This whole thing seems to be pointless to me. Also, don't give me crap about just registering, I've lurked here for a while, and yes I have read over the FAQ.

Hmm, glad nobody has posted yet, as I was just thinking of some more things to ask. Since you say there are no satellites, where does the signal for satellite television come from? Wouldn't they also be in on the conspiracy? That would mean that DirecTV, Dish, every GPS company, and most of NASA in on the conspiracy. That is so many people, I find it hard to believe that nobody would have leaked something by now.

One more question, they just keep coming to me. Since it is a cylinder shape, what is on the underside of it, or the sides?

You could take the time to read my post. My first question was just a simple yes or no question, to make sure I was understanding everything correctly. Don't just post a link to the search button, it just shows how lazy you are.

Not taking the time to use the search button shows how lazy you are. All of this has been anwered before.
However, my advice is to make a specific thread containing just one question you have. This will cause more people to answer it because they won't have to sift through questions relating to different topics. After your question has been answered enough to your satisfaction, make another thread concerning a different topic. When threads have multiple questions and directions to heads toward, it's easy for them to get derailed and head off topic.

Moved to Questions & Clarification.

I don't even know what the first question is. Please post it on its own. The first question mark I see is 'How does it affect your life?' and that can't be answered with 'yes' or 'no'.

Edited, to put a nice simple sentence to satisfy your desire for question marks.

All that tl;dr  is correct, if somewhat patronising.

Okay, I was just making sure it was just as silly as it seemed. It would be nice if others could clear up those other questions, but if you guys don't want to, then oh well.

How the hell is that long? My thread post is way longer than that. You guys just don't want to answer the awkward questions about this topic. Besides, OP, don't mind them, they're just as deluded as those 6000 year old earth crack pots.
The earth is NOT 6000 years old, it is NOT flat, and has NOT been visted by aliens. The U.S. government is NOT behind the 9/11 plane crashes. And the world is NOT going to end in 2012!

These questions, and your questions, have been answered numerous times.

I'm sorry, I forgot that we are some how obligated to answer any and all questions, no matter how many times they have been answered and discussed before.

No one here has to answer any questions, we are not getting paid, do your homework before you post.

Not providing evidence and saying for instance the earth is flat is unscientific just to the fact you can prove anything and you wont take any disapproval...

therefore this website is unscientific.

They feel spirited enough to respond in argumentative and incendiary manners, but not enough to answer questions. Think of the site as a pretentious teen.

It does, just not the way you think it does.

If it's yes or no then no... that does not perfectly represent the beliefs of every flat earther. At all.
If you say that the earth is flat, you are destroying centuries of evolution.

Well, of course not. Your mileage on your lunch will vary.
