Is the moon a flat disc?

If you believe the earth is flat, and if you believe the moon and sun to be flat also, why is it that when the moon goes through it's phases ( cresent, quarter, half etc.) that there is a curved shadow along the moon? That is to say, that if it was flat ,those same shadows would appear straight and not curved?
