How Deep Is the Earth
« on: May 21, 2008, 02:19:31 PM »
How deep is the Earth with the flat earth model? If we dig to deep will the air drain out or will the force going up leak through? Whats under the Earth? What exactly is the nature of the force?
John and Mary raced toward each other like two trains. One having left Chicago at 12:00 at 50 mph, and the other Madison at 45mph.

I understand that it's dark energy. How does it work. Is it like a fan blowing up, or a piston? It obviously cant be pulling up the Earth or we would be pulled with it or dirt would hover in th air. I understand that it may be undescribable, but shouldn't it affect something above the Earth if it leaks through?

1. Unknown how it works.
2. Perhaps.
3. Obviously.
4. Yep.

Are there any observable effects? What are they?

We are accelerating.  That is a readily observable effect.

I meant effects that showed the nature of the force and distinquished it from other forces. Why can't we see it acting on other objects, or make it act on other objects? If we can't find an observable effect that proves it is pushing up on the Earth, then it might as well be gravity, which does have a considerable amount of observable effects besides the accelleration part.

One thing we know pretty much for sure is that it's not gravity.

Infinite Flat Earth Depth and Gravitational Pull

Using Gauss's law:

Alternately, you can integrate:
Apply

to an infinite slab of density , obtaining

where A is the area of the "pillbox," G is the gravitational constant, and h is the thickness of the slab. Therefore, the gravitational acceleration is given by

Source:Wolfram.com

Either way, a < 2*pi*G*D*t for an infinite plane with thickness t

Plug in 2500 kg/m^3 for D,  9.81m/s/s for a and we find a minimum 9000 km for the thickness, t.

Silly question.  If the flat earth, sun, moon, stars and the rest of the known universe are all accelerating, what are we accelerating relative to?

The oceans fill their container, starting from the lowest point. This is much like swinging a bucket full of water in circles. It is absolute proof the earth is accelerating.

But the universe is accelerating with the flat earth, isn't it?  The sun, moon, shadow object, anti-moon, stars and planets are all being accelerated at the same 9.8 m/s2 by the UA just like the flat earth, right?
