An idea for the chat

I just had a fun idea for an upgrade to the chat. I don't know how hard it would be to do, but I'd like to see a feature like youtube's vote system, so we can show our support for good posts and our damnation of crap ones.

It might be a good idea, but it should probably be for threads, rather than individual posts.  It would be less confusing, and it would save people from posting just to express their contempt.

Yeah, Anteater, I know you can vent your contempt for stupid posts by posting, but there are so many stupid posts, and it would be easier to damn them with a click than with a sentence :) I just think that if someone is taking an untenable position, rather than having 50 people arguing the exact same points to him, one person could and the rest could vote in favour. Afterall, the arguments on this chat are never resolved by reasoned arguments, but only by the weight of popular opinion... if that.
