Nice video of a rocket taking off from the ground and entering space, where the curavture of the Earth is clearly evident.

Oh wait, this must be a special effects show put up by "teh conspiracy."

1. You suck for using ebaums.
2. According to the FE Theory, it is "a special effects show put up by 'teh conspiracy.'"

The video cuts off before showing the curvature of the earth. When you have a continuous rocket feed from ground to "orbit" get back to us.

Plus, ebaumsworld is a humor site. The connotations are obvious.

What about those videos you see all the time on the Discovery Channel from the hobby rocketeers? You know, the guys that make their own rockets and shoot em from empty salt flats? Sure all those guys can't be part of the conspiracy too. If they are, that would mean the percentage of people in the conspiracy would be approaching close to 50% of the population.

Are you watching the same video everyone else is? The curved horizon is clearly visible at 1:30 into the video.

Why would they need to be conspiritors? They may think they shot a rocket into space, but it doesn't mean they did..

I was thinking more in terms of the footage they bring back- which show a curved horizon. I'm pretty sure the conspiracy isn't good enough to switch out tapes on a hobby rocket mid-flight.

After WWII, when the Americans STOLE the German rocket technology, scientist shot a rocket into space with cameras on it. Somehow, amazingly, some of the cameras survived. Those were the first images of earth from space, and I saw them.(they were on tv ones) They clearly showed a curvature, and I doubt they could have edited the images so well in the 40s

Here you go, a whole website with nothing but videos from cameras on rockets. I haven't checked every single one of them, but I'm sure one of these "special effects shows" probably meets the criteria.

Watch the video again. The rocket goes straight up, giving a continuous feed until the 1:30 mark. The scene then cuts to a shot of the model rocket behind an obvious green screen.

Ecliptic Enterprises is a well known special effects studio which specializes in simulated spacecraft footage.

To simulate curvature of the earth's flat horizon with a video camera, one simply needs a partial fish eye lense. Well within 1940's technology.

Show us a continuous amateur rocket video displaying the curvature of the earth, then.

They probably aren't part of the conspiracy, but do you think the government would allow Discovery channel to show un-doctored footage?

'EBAUM IS PART OF TEH CONSPIRASY'

Why? Ebaum didn't launch the rocket.

Show us a continuous amateur rocket video displaying the curvature of the earth, then.

The most accessable rocketry footage I've come across actually comes from two episodes of Mythbuster- the Civil War Rocket and Mentos and Cola episodes. Both show continuous footage of a launch of a hobby rocket (and in one case, a water powered rocket), tipping over at the apogee which shows the horizon at the end of their powered flight.

There are a couple on YouTube, but at 240x320 the quality isn't great. Use the keywords 'Rocket Hobyy Onboard'.
