I'm reading "The God Delusion" currently and I can finally have a religious conversation and tell the other person that I'm an athiest, not agnostic. Whew, what a relief.
I like to think of it this way, if God truly exists and I meet him upstairs and he says that I didn't believe I'm going to reply as such, "No, I didn't believe but I was smart, good and looked out for others and tried to live a good life, I also paid attention and wanted to understand. I think that's better than being a mindless sheep, wouldn't you?"
What about spending my entire life believing in the wrong god, what then? If I didn't believe in a Christian god, and it was he that existed, boy he'd wanna kick my ass.
