Question About The Height Of The Dome
« on: December 27, 2015, 07:45:34 PM »
There is said to be a dome covering the flat earth ?
What is the maximum height above earth of the dome ? It would seem it would be over the center of the earth or above the North Pole ?
Does the dome connect with the edge of the flat earth ? It would seem this would be the lowest point above the earth ?
What are the measurements of the height of the dome ?
Over points north of the equator, at the equator, and south of the equator for example ?
A diagram or drawing of this would be helpful.

Question makes no sense, the earth isn't flat, link in sig.

I know that and you know that, but this is The Flat Earth Society Forum and the question was asked for flat earthers to answer. I think the rule on the forum is that this section is only for flat earth questions and answers...So it would be interesting if some information from flat earth believers would be posted. Actually, the answers seem obvious but the answers would best come from flat earth experts.

It was intended to be a "Flat Earth Question" asking for a "Flat Earth Answer."

Taking an approximate measurement for the diameter of the Earth, and assuming a hemispherical dome as it's the most likely shape to form, 63000km, more or less, centred at a point just off the north pole.

In lieu of an FE answer, have a REer's educated guess as to what the model would contain. I'm assuming the dome does touch the sides of the Earth rather than being somehow floating, but that wouldn't be the weirdest part of FET I've heard if it somehow was.

The highest point north of the equator would be the greatest height. The highest point south would be at the equator itself, (or technically arbitrarily close), and would be just over 17300km.

Then again, that would be under a few educated assumptions. Without any better elaborations from FEers, looks like the best we have.

Yes it is not much taller/shorter than the earth is wide.
Disclaimer: I am confused. Everything I say is speculative and not admissible in a court of law; however, I am neither insane nor a threat to myself or others. I am simply curious about everything in life and enjoy talking about crazy shit. Oh, & btw I like turtles.

Just an RE guess, but my guess was that the dome would at its highest point and 12500 miles radius
over the north pole according to the map usually presented by the FES. I am basing  assumption on the dome being a perfect hemisphere with the lowest point being where the dome would - again an assumption - join with the top of the ice ring around the rim of the flat earth.

An explanaton from iWitness would be appreciated if these assumptions are not correct......Or from any FE.
