Are there any flat Earth proponents honest enough to admit that they don't have an answer to the points I have raised repeatedly and never had answered?
1. The angular size of the sun doesn't change significantly indicating that the sun is a long way away. If the sun is a long way away it would have the same angle of elevation everywhere on a flat Earth. It would be the same time of day everywhere.
2. There are circumpolar stars in both the Northern and Southern hemisphere which are always due North or South from any given location.
3. If the sun was moving in a circle a few thousand miles above a flat Earth its distance from any given observer would change significantly over the day therefore its angular size would change.
4. If the sun is moving in a giant circle centred at the North pole how could it visible 24 hours a day for months at a time in Antarctica whilst it is dark 24 hours a days in the Arctic.
I don't want a little talk about keeping an open mind and I don't want to be told I am indoctrinated. I'm not interested in your attempts to deny these basic and checkable facts about the world. I want you to have the honesty to admit that you don't have an explanation for them if you don't. The only attempted explanations I have come across are tantamount to saying, "the evidence does make the Earth look round but this is due to mechanisms that I can't explain and it is in fact flat"
I admit all the time that I don't know the answers to things that round-earthers claim to know. But, both Christians and Muslims say conflicting things about spiritual matters but claim they know the truth. You see, the difference between knowing the truth and claiming that you know the truth are not equal.
Also, we don't like being patronized. What were you trying to do? Elicit a flat-earther to say, "I'm honest enough to tell this random internet person the truth! They'll never question my honesty again."
