resolving former round-earther guilt
« on: September 27, 2014, 08:15:55 PM »
As a former believer in the round earth theory, I find myself not only still physically and mentally adapting to the FE concept, but feeling awash in guilt at having been duped for so long by the round Earth conspiracy.
Like a cult member who has escaped and re-discovered free thinking outside the chains of many years, my freedom is only hindered by this remaining guilt.
I sometimes still discover Science magazines in a closet with the offensive Earth-sphere image and the shame returns.
How long will this last, and are there any remedies to speed up the healing process?

What would you describe as your "epiphany"?  (What made you suddenly disavow the accepted round earth model?)

You sound as if you're over-dramatising the whole issue with your talk of offense and guilt, and freedom from the chains, and healing.  Your decision to accept the flat earth model (assuming it's genuine) sounds as though it's been made in the heat of the moment, and with your emotions overcoming your sense of logic.

(And you also need to convince us that you're not simply a troll before you can expect many reasonable responses.  Just sayin')
