My experience in Antarctica
« on: November 25, 2012, 11:13:00 PM »
i was looking through previous antarctica topics but did not find what i was looking for
anyways, i am a microbiologist and had visited antarctica along with my colleagues in 2011 for research purposes. During my 7 days there it was night the entire time, and this supposedly goes on for 6 months (1 day and 1 night a year).
looking at the FE model and maps i cannot see how this can be possible.
so, how is the darkness for those 7 days i was there explained if the world was indeed flat?

The sun was rotating closer to the north pole during your visit and therefore didn't shine any light on you.

lol.  What is funny is the FET cannot explain why the sun sets at all...  If the sun went around the flat earth and it went out of range of sight, it wouldn't appear to set... It would get smaller and smaller until it disappeared into the distance.  If it was atmosphere that obscured it it would simply fade away and not "set"
