Atmosphere
« on: April 27, 2006, 09:58:21 AM »
This has been brought up many times, and every time (that I've read), RE hasn't really let us discuss this without interference. So, any ideas about how the atmosphere might work on the flat Earth?

I've suggested that there's a nontangible (to us) dome around the Earth that keeps it in. The Mesopotamian Model, I believe, has a very tangible dome that keeps it in. I'm not sure what Rowbotham has said about it, if he said anything about it. Any others?

I don't see why a dome is necessary to "hold in" the Earth's atmosphere. According to the principle of Universal Acceleration, the atmosphere (which has mass) should be pushed to the Earth just as we are. Since it's generally accepted that the ice wall is well above sea level, the wall would hold the atmosphere in to the sides and the upwards acceleration of the Earth would trap it vertically.

While it's completely possible that there is a dome, I see no real reason why there would be in terms of Occam's Razor - there's nothing to suggest that there is a dome and no particular problem with a non-dome explanation.

I would gladly discuss the possibility of the dome further, however.
