##### Flat Earth Debate / Satellites follow a path around the globe
« on: July 18, 2019, 08:40:23 PM »
Weather satellite imagery is easily verifiable by looking up in the sky.  You can see when clouds are about to clear out on those inages taken from orbit. Those satellites have to follow orbital mechanics or they would crash into the Earth.  They barely have enough fuel to make minor course corrections, let alone power to stay aloft.

##### Flat Earth Debate / Coriolis Effect proves a globe
« on: July 18, 2019, 08:33:33 PM »
Rising air parcels rotate counterclockwise in the northern hemishpere, while sinking air parcels and ocean currents rotate clockwise.  This large-scale effect is reversed in the southern hemisphere and is more noticeable at higher latitudes.  I have produced highly accurate weather forecasts for the last 14 years, using math that factors in the angular velocity of the rotating globe and the coriolis parameter.  Cyclones in the southern hemisphere would rotate opposite the way they do and be as much as 5 times larger than they actually are.  FE-theory would never be able to forecast out any cyclone with any degree of accuracy.

##### Flat Earth Debate / Acceleration is not constant on Earth
« on: July 18, 2019, 06:31:36 PM »
FE theory claims the Earth is accelerating up at 9.8 m/s^2.  The problem is that you can measure a different force of gravity whether you're at the North pole, or Equator.  The acceleration is slighty less 9.780 m/s2 at the Equator, due to centrifugal force of the rotating globe. On the FE, acceleration would have to be the same anywhere on Earth.  Earth cannot be flat because of this.

##### Flat Earth Debate / Just because you can't see the curvature doesn't mean it's not there
« on: June 19, 2007, 10:56:46 AM »
The Earth curves at 8in per mile.  Even in a place like the salt flats, you'll never be able to discern that small of a curvature even on a 4000 mile radius sphere.   So you can't use that observation to say that the Earth is flat.

##### Flat Earth Debate / Radius of the Earth proves spherical
« on: March 08, 2007, 04:57:39 PM »
The surface distance from the North Pole to the Equator is 10,011.720km.  For this point, we're only going to use the Northern Hemisphere.

The circumference at the equator is 40,075.02km.

Using the formula 2*Pi*r=Circumference however, the circumference on a flat Earth would be 62,905.492km

FE Equatorial circumference=62,905.49km (38,087.66 miles) while the actual measured circumference is 40,075.02km (24,901.46),
a difference of   22830.47km  (14186.20 miles).

Therefore the Flat Earth is proven impossible.

##### Flat Earth Debate / Coriolis force proves Spherical Earth
« on: March 06, 2007, 05:49:14 PM »
On a flat rotating disk, Coriolis force would still exist (much stronger I might add) all the way to the edge of the disk down to the tip of Africa.  This would keep all cyclones rotating counterclockwise all over the Earth.  Since the Earth is a sphere, all cyclones north of the equator rotate counter-clockwise and all cyclones south of the equator rotate clockwise.  As one approaches the equator of a spherical Earth, coriolis force becomes less and less until you reach the equator and then becomes null.

This is irrefutable evidence that everyone on earth can observe all the time.
