Your whole argument is based on entirely artificial differences of "when is spring" etc. as labels applied by people, rather than observances of natural phenomena. In reality there is no first or last day of any season, they run seamlessly into each other. Many people take the equinoxes to be the first days of spring and autumn, which is stupid, and demonstrably so. Ask people "what season is March in?" (in the Northern hemisphere) and they will universally say "spring". However, if Spring didn't really start until 21st March, then the majority of March would be in winter. And winter has always ended by the time March begins, because new shoots are coming out all over the place.
I use the meteorological calendar to mark the seasons, because it's the most sensible one if you live in Britain:
Spring = March, April, May
Summer = June, July, August
Autumn = September, October, November
Winter = December, January, February
