Flat Earth General / Re: New - Free fall from space record attempt!
« on: October 17, 2012, 02:58:07 AM »
Maybe we should shy away from discussing the horizon of the earth from the pictures. Instead we should discuss the geographical properties we can see and how they appear to not show a flat earth at all.

correct me if I am wrong, but would a team of trained surveyors that have professional training, be better at this sort of thing?

I mean why would you send fire fighter to a burglary when you can send a police man?

Do you do drugs dino? I mean I drink so I'm would not be any better, but damn man you have to be on drugs to believe that.

The icey cliffs are the coastline of antarctica. Beyound antarctica is just more of eartj. You can easily navigate around antarctica and get to any of the plaves near it.

What saddens me most is tjt none of you have been anywhere near antarctica let alone 3 nm off shorw yet you all just believe some wall circles the earth and some of you do not believe antarctica is a continent.

I keep getting sucked back into this, despite knowing it servers no purpose to argue against FE due to selecting reading and denial of truth. But seriously can you stop with the ice wall, maybe take it out of the FAQ? it just is not real, no proof, no witnesses (i swear to god you site some old peoples story of "OMG LOOK AN ICE WALL THE END OF THE EARTH!!!!" then that just makes you look sad)

All in all, no modern documented or even word of mouth style sea storys even begin to hint at an edge of earth. It is just appalling to think this is still brought up.

6
We often make jokes on the bridge about encountering the ice wall while out and about. Not gonna lie the flat earth society really does help kill the time by cracking jokes and laughing at the logic used by some of the members.

It serves no purpose. Its not there, it is only in the minds of people who have not seen anything past their country

Flat Earth Q&A / Re: Ice Wall Question.
« on: October 04, 2012, 04:48:38 PM »
Still talking about the mythical ice wall?

It's not there, people have been all around the continent of Antarctica. People have traveled past Antarctica. Cruises are offered even.

Coast Guard polar rollers help maintain the numerous NOAA buoys around the continent.

No ice wall.

you can freely travel due south and not come into contact with an ice wall, just Antarctica. You can then go around it and head to different oceans.

Case closed.

Let's not provoke the Bishop to further shenanigans.

And now im not on my 666 post anymore. sad face :(

Flat Earth Debate / Re: Concluding that the Earth is in fact not flat
« on: September 30, 2012, 07:06:17 PM »
Without having an overhead view of earth you or I can not conclude its shape. So the reall argumemt should be between those who accept nasa and world space agencys and those who do not believe in them.

Oh and I am currently a harbinger of satan as I am on post 666.

Flat Earth Q&A / Re: The earth is round!
« on: September 12, 2012, 04:59:44 PM »
Same subjects again and again brought up by new people, all disproven by round folk, ignored by flat folk until brought up again then manipulated by flat folk to try ans show how "Dumb" round folk are. That sums up how debates work here in the flat earth society.

Flat Earth General / Re: Space Tourism

This thread has just been Tom Bishop'ed!

As one glides across the planet in a majestic orbit, one would see the true round earth. All hail the penguins!

Flat Earth Q&A / Re: Earth's rotation
« on: September 05, 2012, 11:30:50 AM »
So in other words, yes, Tom is famous. Now there are different kinds of fame.

We have a guy on our ship who is just down right dumb, cant do anything right. He makes us laugh with his stupidity and frustrated also. Everyone knows him, but no one likes him. He makes snarky remarks and has an authority problem. In times of stress he panics. He views himself smart, yet cannot grasp simple instructions.

That is Toms fame. He is the guy that we all laugh at, we know him, but we don't like him. He makes such dumb posts and has some very strange thoughts to the point where we comment because it makes us laugh.

So Thork, that is Toms fame. The known local idiot.

Flat Earth Q&A / Re: Seasons and lighting
« on: September 03, 2012, 11:21:03 AM »
The problem with the illustrations is that they assume that the earth is a globe. The earth is not a globe.

Woot! Tom rolls up in here now!

So Tom, how would the lighting look like if the Earth is not a globe? Please do explain I am sure we would love to hear it.

So the question is... What would the lit portions of Earth be on a flat Earth compared to the observable lighting on a round Earth? I would really like to see. And please do give evidence.

Flat Earth Debate / Re: So what do you FE'ers think about this?
« on: August 29, 2012, 11:32:31 AM »
I agree with Catearththeory. I bet I can find people in other countries that have no clue where Kansas is....

Im going to start calling Rushy Tom's alter ego. He speaks just as nonsensical as Tom and even has a better hint at trolling. Fantastic Rushy! keep up the Tom foolery! haha get it!

Flat Earth Q&A / Re: Why is sustained space travel impossible?
« on: August 27, 2012, 09:29:50 PM »
Rushy you are starting to sound like Tom. It is scary.

Funny how one cannot go into space, yet I along with many others, have witnessed a shuttle launch. Everyone can pretty much tell you that thing does not suddenly come down. Parts of it come off, but the shuttle itself just keeps on going. Not to mention that one time I was on the secondary emergency response crew incase the shuttle went down over the coast line. So we monitored the shuttle via radar and no one saw it come back down at any point. That thing was gone and up there.

You are also acting like Tom, again scary, by citing the "jump off a chair" I am not sure if you are drunk when you type that, but you do know that you cannot notice a difference between the Earth coming up and you going down?

So try harder Rushy. The newer people are not impressed with you, I can tell.

Flat Earth General / Re: Little Man, Big Door
« on: August 27, 2012, 09:20:50 PM »
Everyone... we have just been Tom Bishop'ed.

We have gotten into a discussion with him over something that everyone knows to be wrong, but he alone cannot see why.

I heard about some condition where you tell yourself over and over and over that something is real or what have you. As time goes by suddenly your mind makes it the truth, to you, while everyone els understands that something to be un truthful.

So in the case of Tom and NASA. He has told himself over and over for a long time that NASA is a giant hoax. Now, to him, it is 100% truth and no one can tell him otherwise because he does not view the evidence like a normal person would.

Sorry to say this Thork, I like you, but arguing with you is just like pissing in the wind.
Swimming against a tide of well reasoned thought, I guess would be like pissing into the wind. Its only hard because I have the weight of the obvious on my side. If you stopped trying to swim against the flow and allowed yourself to drift with the current you'd not only be far wiser, you'd be one of the few to realise earth's true shape.

Sometimes it is better to be another face in the crowed then to stand out with little to support the reasoning for standing out.

So once again, arguing with you with the intent to change your mind on the subject is like trying to find the ice wall, never going to happen. So why even post? Why even try? There have been countless threads with cold hard evidence against FET and then those threads die like they are some haunted ghost town. Any mention of them brings forth responses like "RE people do not grasp how they are wrong, they do not understand anything, I am right bottom line" Not a direct quote, but it is usually along those lines.

One would think that the moon landing hoax threads would be all but dead now. Every one has proven the moon landing to be real, TV done it, scientist done it, normal students done it, but yet some people still have such a narrow mind as to not grasp when they are wrong.

Sorry to say this Thork, I like you, but arguing with you is just like pissing in the wind. The problem with debating on this forum is it gets people no where.

So we landed on the moon, satellites exist, NASA has orbiting telescopes.

And I am not arguing or willing to debate those, just cold hard facts.

Flat Earth Debate / Re: A question of why?
« on: August 26, 2012, 05:02:03 AM »
Oh God Earth not a globe, again!

Considering that Rowbotham was a wacko who could not back up his claims without suddenly vanishing from a lecture, that book sure is dol and out dated.

Stop telling people to read Earth not a globe. Horrible fictional book written by someone who fancies himself some sort of scientist with accurat discoveries.

Flat Earth Q&A / Re: The Edge of the Earth
« on: August 25, 2012, 08:37:51 PM »
I will rephrase that for him.
Are there any pictures of the edge or ice-wall (not 100 feet of Antarctic coast)?

To answer, no there are not any pictures of the edge of Earth or an ice wall that circles the Earth. You might see a pic of the Antarctic coast line claiming to be the ice -wall that circles Earth.

Flat Earth Q&A / Re: creation myth for FEH?

Uhhhh no one "discovered" that the Earth is flat. So as of right now, no planet or star is considered flat.

Flat Earth Q&A / Re: 2 sunsets
« on: August 25, 2012, 03:52:35 PM »
Does Tom ever have a logical post? I am loving the old english writings he is bringing up. They really where smarter then us back then. They had better technology and Rowbotham had a space ship.

Once again Tom comes out of his hole to give all of us his latest and greatest of findings! Oh how you have proven that Apollo 11 is so fake. With your infinite wisdom and excellent investigative skills please show us more NASA hoax's!!!!!!!

Or maybe you just do not grasp perspective... Who knows it is Tom...

 ::)

The flat Earth image you showed is correct. It is also the reason when people use airplanes, they can see "two sunsets" after take off. The upper atmolayer is less dense, allowing a longer viewing of the Sun than could be obtained otherwise. I assume by the smiley you think this is evidence for a round Earth, when in fact is just further supports a flat Earth. Thank you for contributing.

If the "atomlayer" is less dense at altitude, how does that explain the sun rising again before setting? It should never really rise or fall. If it becomes less dense it should just gadually reappear through the "atmolayer" somewhere on the horizon. The reverse should happen at night. I don't know how a thicker "atmolayer" can account for a setting sun. Can you demonstrate this?

It does gradually reappear. If you watch a sunrise or sunset, the light lingers before and after the Sun is in view. If you're asking why the Sun doesn't fade in like a slowly turned on light bulb, it sort of does. The Sun is simply too bright to really be noticed. I suggest you look at the Sun (wear eye protection, of course) during sunset or sunrise and compare it to the Sun at noon. The Sun will always be a great deal brighter at noon (or whatever point it is "highest" in the sky) then it is at any other point in time. You will also notice the Sun and Moon redshift when rising and whitening when highest in the sky. All of these notions are due to atmolayer density.

You...are...very...wrong. Trolling right? yes, you have to be. Are you blind? wait, do you have good vision? Do you use contacts?

Do you just start writing whatever comes to your head? Are you autistic? Or maybe down syndrome?

Don't stop writing though, I am getting a good laugh out of reading this. You keep me entertained.

What ever you want to claim is fine with me Roundy. Just know that "for all we know" is implying the possibility that something could be true.

Yes.  Your point?

That you apparently need the Rif site more then any other here.

Why?  I never said that he wasn't allowing for the possibility that the Earth has always been, and your query was regarding how he can know that the Earth has always been... which (again) isn't something he ever stated.

Tell me what I'm misunderstanding, please.  I was gracious enough to do it for you.
That is what I was saying the whole time. That he believes in the possibility that the Earth has just always existed. Jesus are my writing skills that bad... maybe I should take a class.
