I am getting a laptop for my first year of college. I am not looking to break the bank here. I would like to stay under $1,000. What do you guys like in laptops at that price range. I look to you guys because I have no idea of what good specs are for a laptop.

I just watched the documentary film Fat Head.  It is a film that counters the claims of Super Size Me.  Basically, the guy eats nothing but fast food (mostly McDonald's) for a month an loses weight.  Anyone else seen this?

Loosing weight =/= healthy

That was not the point that he was trying to prove. He was trying to prove that Super Size Me was false, and that fast food is not the sole cause of the "obesity epidemic."

I have seen it, and I believe it too. I myself wont try it because I don't need to lose weight, and because I really don't want to waste that much money.

While being in marching band all summer (and still in it now) I have noticed something rather odd. When practicing outside I have a clear view of the sun. When I look at the sun (I have sunglasses on to protect my eyes) when the sun is lower and setting I notice that the sun looks larger than when I saw the sun earlier in the practice. I have observed this many times at practice, and wondered why the sun looks larger when it is setting than when it is higher in the sky. Is there any explanation to why this happens? The sun (in some flat earth theories) makes a circle around the equator, and the "setting sun" you see it the sun getting farther away from you appearing to drop below the horizon. Why have I observed the sun appearing to get larger as it gets lower?

It would be nice if you had posted your sources for this data.  With out that information, it is kind of pointless to respond.

The information is in the FAQ under the heading of 'Physics' and is provided courtesy of Roundy. Nice catch Llama. The FES believes that pi is approximately 2.

What makes pi 2? if you calculate pi with any perfect circle you get approximately 3.14.
