Flat Earth Q&A / So, how does Apollo 13 fit into all this FE stuff?

Do you know how big NASA's budget is?

Do you have a point?

I'm sure they have the money.  If they wanted to they could do it.  It all comes down to how paranoid you are.  Will you believe something simply because it seems plausible?

Not impossible at all, just highly impractical. You must take into account that they could prepare footage beforehand. Agian, seemingly impossible, but it could be done. Then again it's not impossible for me to build a Gundam in my backyard either, it's just impractical, so maybe this is somewhat of a moot point.

So you're saying that Larry King, Jay Leno, and every other person who has interviewed a NASA crew is in on the conspiracy?

And yes, faking that footage would be impossible. I'm guessing you've never actually watched a lot of Zero G footage, because it would take years and the best computer graphics teams in the world to do what you're suggesting. Which is impossible, since they don't have YEARS to do this.

Do you know how big NASA's budget is?

you forgot that there are 20 other points you have ignored for the sake that you can't answer them.

Really?  Go look at page 3.  ALL the original points are answered.

I looked. I don't see many answers, just weaving and dodging the questions asked and points stated. Virtually all of them resorted to some kind of conspiracy that FEer don't even have any proof of existing.

Do you have any proof of these conspiracies not existing?

Yes, because there is not one shread of evidence that they exist. If there was, I could then say that it is possible they could exist.

A well covered up conspiracy will have no evidence of such a thing.

What like watergate? or the pentagon papers? some of the most hushed up conspiracies ever didn't even last close to a decade.

I guess they weren't that well covered up, were they?

How do you know it is not edited?  Things are edited seamlessly all the time in movies.

A) The interviews are LIVE. I capitalized it since you apparently missed it the first time.
B) Do you even think about the replies you come up with? Okay, the camera is facing a scientist who is floating, and his hair is waving around and he's explaining the shuttle's mission, his monologue goes on for over a minute. Even IF this wasn't being done for live feed, the vomit comet would have to do three dips, and then the Super Techs would have to seamlessly edit each one together, making sure that the astronaut's movements, his speech, and his hair (not to mention the other dozen weightless things going on in this shot that I didn't mention) are all in perfect synch.

Now, take into account that the interview is LIVE, that's just plain impossible.

How do you know it is live?

I was the one who brought up the movie Apollo 13.  It was in response to a post that said the interviews from space could not be faked, due to the length.  I pointed out that it was done in Apollo 13, with editing.

And I pointed out that the interviews AREN'T edited.

And someone else pointed out that no Zero G shot in Apollo 13 is longer than 30 secs because that's the maximum amount of time you can create Zero G in the "vomit comet."

You never gave an explanation for unedited live Zero G footage lasting several minutes.

How do you know it is not edited?  Things are edited seamlessly all the time in movies.

It's true.  When I saw Star Wars 3 I had no idea all those ships were fake!  Anyway, it really wouldn't be that hard to edit that stuff together.

I don't know about the electromagnetic force, but I think gravitational force is dependant on the mass of both objects.  If a person goes into orbit around earth and goes on a spacewalk and loses a wrench in the process, it won't go flying towards the earth even though the earth is huge and should have a large amount of gravitational pull and the wrench shouldn't be able to resist it.  They have to work together.  Assuming RE physics are correct, I could still be all wrong.

Nobody has actually seen the Ice Wall Police guarding the Ice Wall that nobody has ever seen.  Where did people come up with that idea?

Well, somebody has to be stopping us seeing the Ice Wall for what it is, otherwise we'd see it. It makes sense that it would be a government, media, and business conspiracy since these groups are responsible for the misinformation about the Earth which permeates society.

If somebody has been stopping you from seeing the Ice Wall for what it is, how do you know what it is?

However what gets to me are two things.
The first being, if you take the FE theory seriously, why believe such an idea while the 99.99999% of the world believes otherwise. Wouldn't it be simpler to believe the  RE theory, and go on living like ordinary people? Even if your FE theory was correct, everyone else still believes otherwise, and it would be a perfect example of "Ignorance is bliss" in life.
And its not like you'll ever truly know if the earth is flat or not.

I can only answer you by positing that ignorance isn't bliss. How could you live happily pretending to believe in something you knew to be a dreadful lie?

How dreadful is the lie?  Supposing you actually do believe this, you don't actually know what is beyond the ice wall.  For all you know, your flat earth may just be a portion of a spherical planet bigger than anyone realizes.

Flat Earth Q&A / Undeniable proof that the Earth is round

EDIT: Nevermind, misunderstanding.

1364
Actually, I find the idea that it could all be A) a joke that got out of hand, B) a sociological experiment, or C) a school project to be quite plausible.

And in reference to Ravingnutter's theory that there must be White Holes and a Cold Sun because of Newton's laws of Physics, that is utter nonsense. According to the laws, there must be a opposite but equal reaction to every action. Neither the Sun nor Black Holes are actions, but objects. If we consider objects as actions, then shouldn't there also be a round Earth somewhere, if this Earth is indeed flat?

This reminds me of multiverse theory.  I like that.  Maybe this website is just a spillover from an alternate earth.

why not keep going?  do you want to live the rest of you life in a spaceship?  or should we go back?

I'm saying that if they were faking the whole thing, why would they quit?

1367
If the moon landings are fake, why didn't they keep "going"?  There is actually evidence that the astronauts passed through the Van Allen belts in the cataracts that many of them have developed.

This is classic reverse psychology.  If they openly forbade Antarctica from being visited, everyone would want to be there.  It's like telling your kid not to steal something from the cookie jar.  By allowing people to visit, they can make it look legitimate and simply brainwash any takers that they get.

That, or the fact that there isn't any thing there.  Except for penguins, those little black and white friends of mine.
