Flat Earth Q&A / Where is the South Pole?
« on: September 29, 2009, 05:23:14 PM »
You know, the bit that Amundsen and Scott visited? The bit which the Round Earthers say is the southern axis of the rotation of the planet? Well if the earth is flat, where is that point exactly? And why, if the earth is flat, do the roundies identify this point over anywhere else?
Here's a picture of the actual pole itself - I like the fact that there really is a slightly crap, very boring and slightly wonky metal pole stuck in the ground!

Flat Earth Q&A / Shape of the "flat" earth
« on: September 28, 2009, 10:00:36 AM »
All models of the flat earth, with the exception of the ludicrous infinite plane idea, seem to depict the earth as a circular object. What evidence do the flat guys have for it being circular, rather than an ellipse, a square, a hexagon or any other shape? Without some form of measurable data to suggest this, it is no more reasonable to assume circularity than any other shape. Let's hear some ideas.

Flat Earth Q&A / Which way to the centre?
« on: September 20, 2009, 05:04:44 AM »
The North Pole is always depicted as being at the centre of a flat earth. Is there any evidence to suggest that North is central and South is around the edge, rather than the reverse? How do you know the Ice Wall isn't in the north? This idea would completely explain how people have explored Antarctica, circumnavigated it etc. and noticed nothing unusual.

Flat Earth Q&A / Questioning The Holy Book
« on: September 16, 2009, 03:20:45 PM »
I posed this in another thread but I think it deserves a thread of its own, as it's not got answered yet:
If Rowbottom's experiments as documented in Earth Not A Globe had shown that the earth was not flat (and presumably he changed the book title to Earth A Globe or Earth Not A Plane), how many of the FE brigade here would still think the earth was flat?

Flat Earth Q&A / Probe the Ice Wall
« on: September 15, 2009, 03:29:26 PM »
If the ice wall is real, wouldnt someone send a plane or at least an unmammed probe past it to find out what was beyond? But I don't know of anyone doing this, so that dents the ice wall idea doesnt it?
