He's misspelling his own "name", swapping avatars like crazy, breaking character numerous times, and generally acting weird by his standards. (EDIT: He's also changed nationality)

Could an administrator have a quick look and find out if James has requested a password reminder lately, or if his log-in IPs have changed? Hopefully it's just a rapid change of heart on his part, but who knows?

Now, first and foremost I'd like to say that I didn't know about this when I was bawwing about Crusty/Verrine lately. Sorry I'm bringing this topic up again.

I have received an e-mail from Verrine. Here's a key part of it:

Hi, it's me, Verrine. Since I received a warning from Ski on September 11th I haven't been able to post anything or send PMs. I can still access the forums, though. I guess I have a posting ban, which is weird because I haven't heard about anyone on these forums getting just a posting ban instead of a normal ban.

Verrine has requested that I represent him here, but didn't provide any details about the ban himself. I am posting in his name and not my own.
Could someone give us a little highlight on what's going on?

Fixing the Wiki takes less than half an hour. 2 months and a half have passed, and no one has even attempted fixing it.
Therefore, to avoid further confusion of newcomers, I suggest that the link be removed from the CMS.

As most of us already know, a certain moderator's sloppy ban setup has caused issues with me logging in after my ban has expired, thus extending my ban duration by a few days while the moderator team was busy ignoring my questions*. This is not the first time this has happened, either. Also, it is not uncommon for someone to forget to include a rationale in the ban message, which leads to people asking other members to posts questions, which then get resolved by a moderator (usually) unrelated to the original ban. This all involves much more effort than it should.

I suggest we make a thread in which moderators/administrators will post the date and time of each ban they issue, along with an explanation of what the person has done and when the ban is supposed to expire. Additionally, extra details could be provided - for example, the ban triggers. This could prevent posts along the lines of "Well, the ban is expired, so lol.  Unless he's trolling the only reasonable explanation I can see is that he made an alt that got IP banned.  So lol.", and generally improve the quality of moderation here. It would simply be easier if everyone knew who got banned, by whom, and why.

*-A special "thank you" goes to John Davis for actually looking into the case.

In American English the letter z is named "zee", which has its source in a 17th century dialect of English.

Pros:

• The alphabet song rhymes (tee u vee, double u ex wye zee)
  
• America, fuck yeah!

Cons:

• Pretty much everyone else says it differently
• Easily confused with c when spelled out, especially over the phone, or if the speaker has an annoying accent

The Commonwealth of Nations (formerly the British Empire), and thus nearly all speakers of English that aren't Americans, prefer to call it "zed". It is derived from the ancient Greek zeta.

Pros:

• Consistent with many other languages (e.g. zeta in Italian and in Spanish, zäta in Swedish, zet in Dutch, Polish, German, Romanian and Czech, zæt in Danish, zett in Norwegian, zède in French, and zê in Portuguese)
• Easily distinguishable from any other letter's name
• It's British, and all things British are known to be of exceptional quality

Cons:

• Thousands of ruined childhoods - the alphabet song sounds somewhat awkward with a "zed" at the end
• May cause confusion when pronouncing nicknames and abbreviations ("Jay-Z", "lol i ma on teh internet typin is ez")

And last, but not least, I bring to you, ladies and gentlemen, IZZARD (and a lot of commas, too)! It has an alternative spelling of "uzzard", and its origins have to do with the Scottish "ezed". Most users of "izzard" live in Scotland and South Asia. Needless to say, there aren't many of them.

Pros:

• FUCK YEAH IZZARD
• TALK ON THE PHONE AND BE CONFUSING LIKE A POWERPUFF GIRL ON CRACK. HI, MY NAME IS ZULU. THAT'S IZZARD YOU EL YOU. WHAT? WHAT WAS THAT YOU WERE ASKING ABOUT? OH, THE FIRST LETTER? IT'S IZZARD. WHY?
• YOU CAN GET SLEEPY AND BE LIKE "I'M GOING TO CATCH SOME IZZARDS", FUCK DAMN YES
• IT'S FROM THE DAMN SCOTS SO YOU KNOW IT'S GREAT LIKE ALL SCOTTISH THINGS. THEY'RE KIND OF LIKE VIKINGS, ALMOST. IN FACT, IF VIKINGS SPOKE ENGLISH, THEY'D CALL Z IZZARD.

Imagine that Linux and Ubuntu and all those variations of that crappy OS are
FREE for the taking. You would think that everyone would rush to install
Ubuntu and ditch Windows. Tell you what. It isn't happening.

The reason is that people are all gung-ho on the concept of free software
and open source. Once they realize that it's SHIT, they quickly remove that
crappy software from their PC's and go back to a real solution. Microsoft
Windows.

Remeber Ubuntu is FREE and Linux is FREE and still NOBODY wants it. That
should tell you all you need to know about that piece of shit software.



The above commentary does not apply to servers using Linux. Only the
desktop.

It has come to my attention that people get banned for moronic reasons (using a certain word which is not even offensive).
I suggest that this madness ends.
As a satisfactory solution, I propose adding a filter for this word, replacing it with "Friday" - a humorous reference to Daniel Defoe (Who, in turn, could easily be a humorous reference to our beloved Daniel), as well as the rising star of Rebecca Black.
I believe that the aforementioned is a much better way of dealing with the "issue" (Let's pretend there is one. I mean, we ban people for it, so apparently there is an issue.) than being flat-out retarded and enforcing a rule no one agrees with, whilst ignoring serious offences in the meantime.
