« on: May 08, 2014, 02:05:21 PM »I was expecting something more exciting than "they've been here longer than we thought." It's not in dispute that Native Americans came from Asia, probably across the Bering Strait, just when it happened.
It is in dispute, there was a proposed theory of back-migration. That it's the other way around.
Also one argument is that the Natives have always been there
Have always been there? As in it was specifically a different speciation event from what I presume are the New World Monkeys that gave rise to the natives as opposed to them coming out of Africa from the Old World Monkeys like the rest of us? Because if that's the claim, it's outlandish and ridiculous.
