I have to say that what usually makes me stop reading a thread is when Sandy turn up with reams of copy pasta that more often than not bears only a passing relevance to the discussion. To then accuse others of that is ironic.

Am I missing something here?
Between you, you don’t want to be challenged, you don’t like the moderation, it isn’t the society you want, surely the answer is to pool your talents and set “that” society up, rather than carp about what others have done?

I thought I was chief negotiator for the other site in the last round of discussions, came here in the flush of my youth with dreams of moving on to settle the middle east and reforming Oasis, but it turned out I was to be a good faith hostage, held until such time as certain byzantine conditions were met as to my release, whilst being forced to write cheery doggerel to maintain the falsehood of collaboration, but caught between Pizzamans jealousy and SCG’s need for more slaves, I have been imprisoned here since.

Please inform Amnesty.

It's not football.
It’s Americas way of giving potentially dangerous youth an outlet for their aggression whilst selling stuff.
You feed them steroids, dress them as a cross between a power ranger and a medieval knight , give them a pointy ball stolen from rugby, tell them to throw it around and run into each other, stop the game the moment anything actually happens so everyone can rest, change half the team or let some nerdy guy have a kick & allow some old meathead time to shout at the refs’, mix in a few song breaks to give everybody a chance to buy fattening foods and teeth rotting drinks and then spend several hours trying to get out of the carpark.

Yay the Blacksox.

Sorry, I'll go away now.

Philosophy, Religion & Society / Re: Another mass shooting...
« on: September 10, 2019, 06:05:24 AM »

I think if you look around the world at what armed forces regularly do to their own peoples it is patently obvious that a pole of soldiers who say “of course I wouldn’t” isn’t necessarily worth a hill of beans, and even where it is, the percentages you state still make for a massacre.

If you look at your Kent state shooting (1970), 37% of the national guard “admitted” to firing on the students, killing 4, paralysing 1 and wounding a further 8 in less than 20 seconds.

These were young low-grade soldiers in a tense situation in an atmosphere of distrust and rumour, but the dead were unarmed kids about 300 foot away from the 70 odd guardsmen who had already fixed bayonets, hardly a source of immediate peril.

We are an inherently violent species, everyone of us has in our ancestors, killers, who did so to get us this far, and sure, we like to think they were justified, but?

However let's not get distracted. Perhaps this was media bait to divert attention and headlines away from something else.

Probably his links to a dead pedo.

You are right, I hate everyone excluding white straight Christian men. Women should stay in the kitchen and be used for breeding only. I actually hated black panther for obvious reasons and wonder woman was terrible and completely inaccurate. She spoke out of turn and didn't cook once.

Is everyone happy now? So ridiculous

So I looked up the Gillette add, and while it seemed to me to be over egging the macho man as I remember, kids fighting would have gotten a foot up the arse and told to pack it in, never looked on with pride, and it was a spectacular shot in the foot as a promotion apparently, it did have some relevant points about domination and maintenance of privilege, and I didn’t hear them “literally call most men evil”, and here is where we differ.
Conservatives by nature abhor change and generally rail against it, much of my extended family is of this ilk, “PC gone mad” when they introduce seat belts, and so on. The Lefties like me are more open to change (in my experience), thinking we can be better, rather than looking for safety in tradition.

The add I saw, could, if it had not been taken over by the urge to list every possible male fault, by putting a question mark on the tag-line, “The best a man can get”, been a really good advert, it failed because it was.

We can as humans be better than we are, if not then it’s all fucked, if my comments seemed scathing, it was a reaction to the underlying contempt that underscored the point you were making, which I partly agreed with, born from hearing this brand of conservatism through much of my life and knowing where the currents led. If I had that wrong, then my apologies.

Well I consider myself to be “left” but have no interest in those that push ridiculous agender, and I haven’t seen the Gillette adverts, so I can’t comment on that specifically, however what I see above is a pair of frothing volk getting very upset about something that would probably die a natural death (for the reasons they stated), If it wasn’t kept alive by angry paranoid men thinking there was a plot by female supremacists (and the left) to make them both, crochet, and superfluous to reproduction , I suggest you watch a Chuck Norris film and then get your woman to make you a pack-up and go hunt a Mastodon.

Yes, me commenting on a post is worked up? Me simply saying "I don't like things being changed simple for the lovely PC reasons"

Right

I am very close to not being able to care less.

As for your end part...why are you attempting to pull a left trigger? Ignoring completely what I or shifter has said and saying what you want when it is clearly what neither has said.

You are better than that jura

Because, it needs you and the Shifters of this world in counter point to the agendist’s (not a word, I know), to make this a story, someone makes a bad call on redressing what is seen by most as an unbalanced preponderance of white guys getting all the parts, and you have a jeering crowd form shouting “take that you PC man haters”, I don’t get it.

So now Stash and I have proven (by the time honoured method of a video) that the centre is Stonehenge, and Spacey has proven (by being Mom) that there is no edge we seem to have a paradox, but have we? If we invoke non-euclidean coordinates and the Sagnac effect, I think you will find we do not.

I don’t know, I mean I know the world is going to hell and all, but he randomly announces he wants a country to sell a huge chunk of over-sea territory, to him, and when they go, “Err, no you mental case”, he acts like a giant toddler, maybe living there you figure you all will be okay when we are all wasteland, because we thwarted his wish to be the travelling king of Europe on a mechanical bear, but that’s not how it works.

No Sir, it isn’t green as in a golfing green, it’s not all that green sir, in fact it’s quite cold sir, which is why the Nordic murderer who founded the colony probably named it Greenland to trick people into thinking it was actually green, sir.

No not to play golf sir, more to be his vassals,

Vassals sir, like slaves.

No sir, I don’t think it still allows slaves sir.

I don’t know for sure sir, but I would say there aren’t many golf courses sir, considering the climate.

No sir, I don’t think snow ploughs would clear it in a few days’ sir, there’s some pretty thick ice sir.

Yes sir, it is the biggest island in the world.

Yes sir, it is bigger than Branson’s, but not as warm sir.

Yes sir, but I don’t think Skull and Piggy island are real islands sir.

Well, for starters you can see an airliner at that height, especially when (and this is important), it catches the sun, and that is the important thing about looking for the ISS, you need the sun over the horizon, it, against the dark back ground of the night sky, then the sun (which in your fantasy is hidden behind the atmolayer) illuminates it, and indeed a host of other satellites, and at the right time of year, noctilucent clouds too.

Perhaps it was just considered bad trolling and moved accordingly, possibly due to the fact it was a poorly conceived explanation for an incident that had a geopolitical back story that made sense as much as politics does, and really didn’t need the flat earth ramming in like the foot of an ugly sister to Cinderella’s shoe.

The celestial bodies are described as projections upon the atmolayer, blah blah

Who is projecting, from where, powered by what and why would they?

I went to a Turkish Hairdressers the other day and they offered me a coffee, I said “yes please”, they said “would you like it Turkish or like the Costa?” When in Rome, thought I, “Turkish please” they brought a cup of coal tar filled to saturation point with sugar, I said thank you.

I've voted for remain the same, but if you're insistent:

or

All in respect to the fact I got bitten at the weekend and it's swollen so much I fear I may lose my arm.

I think it should stay as it is, the ambiguity of the acronym would not make you mysterious, just anonymous, personally I think it is one of the best names here.
