Something might be happening...

Confirmed now that the Marines are deployed to DC and have full combat gear.

The National Guardsmen in the city were disarmed due to Democrat paranoia, and they tried to vet all 25,000 of them to weed out anybody that voted Republican at all in the last election.

This is overstating it a bit.  They're just checking their social media accounts for things like qanon or #stopthesteal.

If they banned republicans then we wouldn't have much of a military left over.

Also regarding tomorrow.  Maybe an attack will occur.  But DC is locked up tighter than a dolphin's butthole right now.  We expected riots at all 50 state capitols yesterday.  But it turned out that law enforcement outnumbered the protesters.

Note that a lot of people that were part of the war-mongering Bush and Obama administration are in the Biden one.

Makes me worry that more wars will be started again, and we will once again be on the brink of nuclear war, such as with North Korea.

Wars are extremely unpopular with democrats and republicans currently.  Biden would be aware of that.  We still have the military industrial complex to worry about but they're more in bed with republicans than democrats.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/2021/01/18/pelosi-laptop-riley-june-williams/

Quote
An ex-partner of Williams’s, identified only as W1 in court filings, told the FBI that friends of Williams played a video of her stealing the drive or computer from Pelosi’s office, and that Williams “intended to send the computer device to a friend in Russia, who then planned to sell the device to SVR, Russia’s foreign intelligence service,” a criminal complaint states.

This is what it means to be a patriot Trump MAGA. Selling classified information from your government and selling to Russia....

Potential classified data.  According to Pelosi, it was just used for presentations.

But I'm wondering if the IT at the capitol is any good.  I mean, no compuTrace?  No instant wipe setup?  Bitlocker encryption?  Or does it have all those and the lady hasn't turned it on yet?

I guess it's just the intent. She wouldn't think of selling it to Russians if she believed it was harmless presentations. She probably thought it had lots of juicy intel and could sell out her country for a quick buck

Regardless of what was on there, she should be if found guilty be charged with espionage on top of being a treasonous insurrectionist

It's unlikely she'd even know what she's looking at.  She probably just assumed, government laptop = the entirety of US classified intel.

Do you have any statistics on death due to weed?
Just because you can't really OD with it doesn't mean it can't kill you long term (or short term, if you suicide due to psychological issues).

I believe there's a documentary that definitely proves that marijuana leads to jazz music and raping white women.

I like the guy who said they can't sit in Pence's chair.  Invade the capitol, that's fine.  But sitting in a chair, whoa.  Too far.

Yes.  A full length musical is the only way to cover this event.  Preferably with Lin Manuel Miranda.

My favorite part is where she said trump would be remembered by historians for the pre Covid economy.

I apologize to anyone offended by this but a woman being trampled to death while carrying a "Don't tread on me" flag is objectively hilarious.

No one is going to believe this happened in 40 years.  This was full of so much shit that if a screenwriter came up with it they'd call him a lazy hack.  Rioters beating cops and bashing the doors of congress with an American flag?  Really?

Footage the Washington Post stitched together during the insurrection.  Some of the things the crowd are saying are a little disturbing.  This was no out of control mosh pit.  A good number of them really seemed intent on murdering lawmakers.

14
Highly doubt they'll be expelled.  Possibly censured but that's a longshot.

They are taking a lot of heat right now though.  Cruz might survive this overall but Hawley might be finished.

There is an excellent interview with Joe Rogan and Ira Glasser from the aclu regarding all of this. Too bad it's behind Spotify now.

A few interesting things came up. Ira Glasser believes trump might be criminally liable for incitement.

Also, there's the idea of how the concept of net neutrality would apply to not only the consumer end of the internet but also the business end of the internet. Specifically Amazon's servers. Maybe if we did a push for net neutrality then web servers should be a part of that.

16
Yeah the likes of Cruz, Graham and pence are to me disqualified. They just don't represent republican values.

There might be room for someone like Sarah Palin but in 2020 she's far too respectable. To really be a republican these days you have to be so crazy that they won't give you a driver's license.

I'm thinking of a Marjorie Taylor green/my pillow guy ticket.

17
The list is missing the qanon congress woman, the drunken blonde who thinks the election was stolen and the my pillow guy.

For me it's a toss up between the three of them.

Whether or not corporate America has the resolve to stick to this is yet to be seen.  No one is running a campaign right now so donations aren't that relevant yet.

Quote
The $3,000-a-month toilet for the Ivanka Trump/Jared Kushner Secret Service detail

Many U.S. Secret Service agents have stood guard in Washington’s elite Kalorama neighborhood, home over the years to Cabinet secretaries and former presidents. Those agents have had to worry about death threats, secure perimeters and suspicious strangers. But with the arrival of Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner, they had a new worry: finding a toilet.

Instructed not to use any of the half-dozen bathrooms inside the couple’s house, the Secret Service detail assigned to President Trump’s daughter and son-in-law spent months searching for a reliable restroom to use on the job, according to neighbors and law enforcement officials. After resorting to a porta-potty, as well as bathrooms at the nearby home of former president Barack Obama and the not-so-nearby residence of Vice President Pence, the agents finally found a toilet to call their own.

But it came at a cost to U.S. taxpayers. Since September 2017, the federal government has been spending $3,000 a month — more than $100,000 to date — to rent a basement studio, with a bathroom, from a neighbor of the Kushner family.

A White House spokesperson denied that Trump and Kushner restricted agents from their 5,000-square-foot home, with its six bedrooms and 6.5 bathrooms, and asserted that it was the Secret Service’s decision not to allow the protective detail inside. That account is disputed by a law enforcement official familiar with the situation, who said the agents were kept out at the family’s request.

You may not poo!

Looking at this story more I'm not sure what to think.  At first glance it seems like the Kushners are being jackasses.  But then there's this paragraph

Quote
The Obamas did not use the garage, so the extra traffic to and from the command post caused no problem. Yet this solution, too, was short-lived after a Secret Service supervisor from the Trump/Kushner detail left an unpleasant mess in the Obama bathroom at some point before the fall of 2017, according to a person briefed on the event. That prompted the leaders of the Obama detail to ban the agents up the street from ever returning

So basically Obama, just being a nice guy, let them use his garage toilet.  The secret service paid him back to wrecking it.

Maybe the secret service just isn't house broken.  Maybe they destroyed some bathrooms inside Kushner's house before they got banned there.

Could it be that everytime we go to a public restroom and see the stall doors kicked out, gum in the urinal, shit on the toilet seat and graffiti everywhere that it was the secret service?

Let's take the anger down just a little in this discussion.  I'm seeing some statements that are dangerously close to personal attacks.

I couldn't help but notice that there's an unusual amount of police cars around today.  Maybe because I live close to the state capitol.

The thing is the video I mentioned is not at all salacious.  It's a discussion of prostitution from a lot of different perspectives.  It's something you can almost show as an educational video.

I believe PhilosophyTube had a few videos demonitized for discussing sex.  I recall one he did on prostitution where he forwarded by saying it's a foregone conclusion that that particular video would be demonitized.

Amen to that.  The discourse on youtube has lost it's edge under pressure to disneyfy it.  It's very disturbing.  Youtubers are censoring curse words for fuck's sake!

Stop fibbing. Trump didn't say anything to incite violence. If he did, those quotes would be played repeatedly on CNN. They are not doing so because they don't exist. Quote him directly.

There was plenty of violent rhetoric in Trump's speech that day.  But it's irrelevant.  What matters is that Trump keeps lying to America and saying the election was fraudulent.

That is why this happened.  That's the incitement to violence.  That's why things like this are going to continue to happen until he comes out and admits that it wasn't stolen and he was just being selfish and arrogant.

Still waiting for a direct quote from Trump. I linked a direct link to the transcript above. Trump says to be peaceful. Show us where he incites violence. If you cannot do this then you have conceded your position.

If you believe your country is being attacked from within then you have an obligation to act.  These people believed it because Trump is the only one they trust and this is what he told them over and over again.

I don't think you'll argue with me when I say he yelled the election was stolen from him some several thousand times.

That's it.  Right there.  That's the incitement to violence.

Why didn't they just go in the yard?  They could just bring some shovels to dig a hole and bury it afterwards.
